Located within 35 km of Takayama Station and 38 km of Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village in Takayama, Yunohirakan features accommodation with seating area. We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were great and very informative about the location and transport options etc. An absolute must stay if you are near the area. The food was incredible for breakfast and dinner, very traditional and gorgeous meat. The private baths are the best we went in, the fact they are private is a massive plus. We had the best time here; thank you to all the staff! It is also really close to the bus station to get to the Kamikochi Valley.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. This was the best place I stayed in during me & my husband's 2 week Japan trip and not coincidentally, where we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary. For me, it was probably once in a lifetime and it was totally worth to get the full experience: huge space, private onsen, kaieseki dinner and breakfast served in the room. We didn't even leave the room once we checked in and the place plus the vibes really connected us with the surrounding nature. The most relaxing place I've been to!

Boasting a private open-air bath, Oyado Eitaro is situated in Takayama. Featuring free private parking, the 2-star ryokan is 35 km from Takayama Station. This ryokan stands out for its excellent service. All the staff were cheerful, polite, and genuinely welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with a wide variety of dishes and excellent taste. You really shouldn’t eat too much beforehand, as the dinner here is plentiful and delicious. The location is great for those planning to visit Kamikochi — it’s just a short walk from the bus station to the ryokan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recover after exploring Kamikochi. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of me and my family.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. We loved our time at Auberge Hidanomori. The decor is beautiful and in a lovely location in the outskirts of Takayama. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who gave us recommendations for some local walks and provided a free shuttle to/from town. We would definitely recommend booking in for dinner - the food was incredible and the best that we had during our trip to Japan. We hope that we will be back again some day - thank you!

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. highly recommend, everything is perfect: quiet and beautiful place, friendly and helpful staff, private dinning experience; hot spring bring relaxation and pleasure. The lady who serves the dinner is the most elegant and kindly person we have never met before.

ひらゆの森別邸湯う香三蔵庵 is set in the Hirayu Onsen district of Takayama, 47 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, 49 km from Matsumoto Station and 13 km from Kamikochi. Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.

Set in Gujo, 民泊Azoo provides accommodation 5.8 km from Takasu Snow Park and 6.8 km from Dynaland Ski Resort. Really nice and cosy accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when we needed it. Highly recommend.
