Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Urasa Cottage @ Snow Countryside is a recently renovated country house situated in Minami Uonuma, 29 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort. Lovely new house! Room was huge and we could use the kitchen and living room downstairs. The host came to pick me up at the train station and offered to drive me back next morning, and also presented a gift of a bottle of sake. Very satisfied!

Comfy, felt like a home. Private onsen across the street. There is a lovely public onsen at the Lime Resort which is walking distance from the lodge.

Offering ski-to-door access and ski storage space, Belle Vue Nishiura is located in Minami Uonuma in the Niigata Region, a 3-minute walk from Ishiuchi-Maruyama Ski Resort. We were very pleased with the fantastic location at walking distance from Ishiuchi Maruyama and all the facilities, including the affordable ski equipment rental, the huge drying room, a yummy breakfast and the warm welcome by our host. The free shuttle service from Echigo-Yuzawa station is a plus!

Offering a terrace and hot spring bath, Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan is situated in Minami Uonuma, 2 km from Maiko Snow Resort. Free private parking is available on site. Truly one of the most wonderful inns I’ve stayed at in all of my times in Japan! The place is immaculate and feels lovely and new while also having a wonderful 「懐かしい」 vibe to it. From the very start all of the staff were kind and considerate and showed us all the ropes! I adored that the entry into the rooms is all keyless—there’s touch keypads on the doors! We tried all three baths since we reserved the wonderful private rooftop bath. As an FYI for anyone unaccustomed to such a thing, the rooms themselves do not have showers—you’re meant to use the bath areas for your cleaning, so if you’re uncomfortable with the onsen experience in Japan just be aware! You totally should get over your anxieties and use the bath though—they’re relaxing and luxuriant! We had one dinner with them and two breakfasts, and all of the food was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was buffet style and full of local/seasonal ingredients, and the dinner was course after course and we were very very well fed. All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things. We adored our stay!

Yuzawa Grand Hotel is within a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Train Station and the Sake Museum. It offers 3 public baths, a massage service and free parking on site. This hotel has the best location , walkable from echigo station, and close proximity to many restaurants and nearby ski slopes. Hotel breakfast was good , wide spread. We tried their dinner buffet, it was very good too though little over priced. The best part was the onsen, loved the outdoor onsen in the snow, wasn’t too crowded. Morning was empty.

The first time we stepped on the premise until we left was absolutely perfect experience Ive had in a long time

Set within 2 km of Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort and 22 km of Naeba Ski Resort, Guest house SENWA offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Yuzawa. Amazingly friendly staff, Naoto was very accommodating, excellent clean facilities, and comfortable bed. The Ofuro was particularly good. Will definately be staying again.
