What a lovely house, the host can pick you up at Yudanaka and drive you to where you need to go. The breakfast was delicious. A good place to visit snow monkey park and skiing resorts nearby.

Shiga Kogen Lodge features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Yamanouchi, 20 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. There is a seating and a dining area in all units. The food was amazing, it was an experience on it's own. Be prepared to eat things that you wouldn't usually eat and have a real authentic Japanese experience. I looked forward to breakfast every day, the food was beautiful and presented beautifully. The owners are super helpful and the location to the ski lifts is superb. We hadn't done an Onsen yet until we stayed at Shiga Kogen, so it was baptism by fire as the shared bathrooms is the Onsen, but don't be put off, it's an amazing experience and the Onsen is great after a day on the slopes.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Great hosts, lovely ryokan experience.

Minshuku Miyama provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 3.6 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 13 km of Ryuoo Ski Park. The staff is nice, if you are thinking of visiting the Snow Monkey Park is a great location, the food is awesome so I recommend that you take both breakfast and dinner if you can. The outdoor onsen was great, too, and the bedrooms are comfortable, and you are provided with a traditional japanese experience as well.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. This was simply a wonderful ryokan The owners are a lovely couple - very kind and responsive, and they speak English The owner met us at the train station, took us to the Monkey Park, and even showed us where to find some delicious ramen (which we really did enjoy) The ryokan itself has a great onsen - just as good as public ones They also provided us with yukata, which was a nice way to experience Japanese culture At the end of our stay, the owner kindly drove us back to the train station I would absolutely recommend this place- one of the best we’ve ever stayed at!
