Located within 35 km of Takayama Station and 38 km of Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village in Takayama, Yunohirakan features accommodation with seating area. We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were great and very informative about the location and transport options etc. An absolute must stay if you are near the area. The food was incredible for breakfast and dinner, very traditional and gorgeous meat. The private baths are the best we went in, the fact they are private is a massive plus. We had the best time here; thank you to all the staff! It is also really close to the bus station to get to the Kamikochi Valley.

The place is absolutely breathtaking, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience!

Boasting a private open-air bath, Oyado Eitaro is situated in Takayama. Featuring free private parking, the 2-star ryokan is 35 km from Takayama Station. This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. I have no words other than - wow. Beautiful place in the woods, minimalist interior, impeccable. It’s all about the small details! The shuttle service to and from the stay was also super helpful. We had dinner two nights in a row, the first night with the wine pairing. We had drinks we never had in our lives (we ended up buying a couple of bottles) and tasted one of the best meals we have ever had. The second night they remembered our favorite drinks and in general were so attentive. I have nothing but good words to say about this place and I’d recommend staying there to anyone coming to Takayama.

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. The breakfast and dinner are delicious. Onsen is great. There is shuttle service between ryokan and train station. The massage chair is really good.

Set in Gujo, 民泊Azoo provides accommodation 5.8 km from Takasu Snow Park and 6.8 km from Dynaland Ski Resort. Really nice and cosy accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when we needed it. Highly recommend.

Situated in Gujo, 46 km from Gero Station and 100 metres from Rensho-ji Temple, The Nomad Inn Gujo features air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Masa-san was an amazing host. Helpful with our late check-in and recommendations for the local area. The house had everything we needed and was very clean and spacious. It is a traditional house so rooms had tatami and futons. Restaurants and stores were within walking distance and there was parking close by. We will be back.

Offering quiet street views, villa-rizo 山田 is an accommodation situated in Takayama, 3.9 km from Fuji Folk Museum and 4.2 km from Yoshijima Heritage House. This was the best accommodation of our trip to Japan. Great house, with everything you need. Very modern, exactly like as at the photos. The house is in a very quiet residential area, but you need a car as it is about 3 km to the city centre.
