This is so special for Japanese hotel at the same price range. Bathroom is roomy and modern. The overall vibe of the hotel is modern and cozy. Short walk from Yamagata station and 7-11 down stairs is a plus.

I loved every aspect of the place - sleeping, living, dining, showering, onsen, accessibility to the slopes. This is a beautiful place! The owners were very nice and they were very forgiving of our mistakes and helped out with our request.

Set 500 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort, Pension Puutaro offers 3-star accommodation in Zao Onsen and features a garden. The location is super convenient. It's next to the ski rope, ski rental place and there are a few restaurants and a convenience store nearby. The owner of the Pension is super nice, she offers all kinds of help and make our trip very comfortable.

Situated in Yamagata, Guesthouse Mintaro Hut features accommodation with free private parking. The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. It was a warm and cozy house. I still vividly remember the scene—drinking hot coffee with a cute little cat by my side, soft music playing in the background, casually chatting with guests from another country, while the firewood crackled, the woods burned, and snow gently fell outside. I truly believe these memories will continue to heal me in the future. The food the hosts made was so delicious. Thank you so much for the wonderful food and heartfelt hospitality. This house truly gave me a feeling of home. I felt really sad on my way to the airport 🥲 I’ll definitely be back soon!!!
