The hotel is perfectly located near the central station, restaurants and a supermarket. Our room was clean, quiet and had a nice view of the city of Yamagata. The staff at the reception was very friendly and they helped us with every request we had. :) We really appreciated that we didn’t have to change our room even though we extended our stay with a second booking. We definitely wouldn’t hesitate to book again. :)

The owner was very friendly and told us where to go for lunch and dinner and the food there was fabulous as well! The drink at the bar was very tasty as well. Moreover, the owner offered Nintendo Switch with various games. The best thing the owner gave me was two cans of Dr. Pepper for my birthday present. That was a good treat from him!

Takasagoya Ryokan está ubicado en Zao Onsen. El ryokan 3 estrellas ofrece un restaurante y habitaciones con aire acondicionado, wifi gratis y baño compartido. La cocina es exquisita, me encantó y la disfruté muchísimo, tanto la cena como el desayuno. El trato del personal también súper amigable y atento y la ubicación a un par de minutos hablando de la parada de autobuses.

Forest Inn Sangoro ofrece alojamiento con restaurante, un jardín, salón compartido y una terraza. Centro de esquí Zao Hotsprings queda a 3,1 km de distancia. Cozy vibe for snow lovers. Staff are very friendly and responsive.

El Miyamaso Takamiya está situado a 10 minutos a pie del teleférico de Zao Sky Cable y cuenta con 9 baños termales naturales. Excellent all around. Amazing food and kind staff who were very attentive and accomodating. Hertiage buikding was an amazing serene setting for a holiday.

Guesthouse Mintaro Hut está ubicado en Yamagata, a 18 km de Centro de esquí Zao Hotsprings. La casa de huéspedes 1 estrella ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado, baño compartido y wifi gratis. Todo. Son amabilísimos. El sitio céntrico, tienen un gato, son muy atentos y las habitaciones son comodísimas. Llegué cuando estaban cenando y me invitaron a la mesa y se interesaron por todo, es algo que me reconfortó e hizo sentir como en casa.

Se encuentra a solo 1 minuto a pie de la estación de esquí de Zao Onsen.El Zao Kokusai Hotel ofrece amplios baños de aguas termales cubiertos y al aire libre y habitaciones de estilo japonés. Todo. Personal híper atento, servicio de cena y desayuno inmejorable, habitaciones silenciosas y pulcras, onsen relajante (tienen opción de onsen privado por 2000-5000¥ los 45'), bebidas gratuitas, servicio de lanzadera a la estación y proporcionan todo tipo de enseres para la estancia (gel, champú, acondicionador, kit de lavado de dientes, gorro de ducha, cuchillas, cepillo, secador, toallas, sábanas, yukatas, dulces de bienvenida...)

Yamagata Zao Pension Apron Stage es un alojamiento 3 estrellas ubicado en Kaminoyama, a 2,3 km de Centro de esquí Zao Hotsprings, y tiene un jardín, una terraza y un restaurante. This is a great pension run by a lovely family. The husband picked us up at the bus station and drove us to the pension and also took us to the slopes in the morning. They gave us a coupon for renting gear and a map explaining the different onsen options around town. Their English is pretty limited, but they are happy to use Google translate. Also, it was not a big deal, but I think it is important for foreign guests to be aware that ski culture in Japan sort of assumes you are eating dinner at your accommodation. We did not know this and did not book dinner at the hotel. Most restaurants in town were fully booked with reservations (although there is a convenience store with good takeaway food), so try to book dinner at the hotel or make a dinner reservation somewhere well in advance. We were very luck and managed to make a reservation at the Mongolian lamb place Kasheru for the second night and that was amazing. But we saw restaurants turning people away repeatedly because everywhere in town was full. Also, the family will not pick you up by car any later that 6:45 pm (perfectly reasonable) and the public ski shuttles don't run on weekdays, so you need to pre-book a taxi if dinner will end later than that (which it probably will since most restaurants open at 6 pm). And there are not a lot of taxis and no Uber. I wish I had realized all of this up front, but that was our own ignorance and our stay was great regardless. Again, this is just the local ski culture and not the hotel's fault. It's just helpful information for future guests.

WAVILLA mihata cho está ubicado en Yamagata, a tan solo 16 km de Centro de esquí Zao Hotsprings, y tiene alojamiento con un jardín y una terraza, además de cocina compartida. The house is a traditional, cute, cosy Japanese home, we had a lovely time staying for 3 days and I’m amazed with how thoroughly the owner had prepared the property before we arrive. There was diffuser at the entrance, which made the house smells so lovely. Nice branded shampoo and shower gel, Dyson hair dryer and a vacuum cleaner ( definitely highlight of the place) very comfortable bed sets and pillows. Oh, we loved the blanket/ table set, it was such a clever invention to have a giant electric blanket in the living room under the table to keep us warm while watching a movie over the projector. Overall it was absolutely amazing for anyone who wants to experience traditional Japanese living style.
