This is a perfect choice for your hiking, skiing, onsen, snow or simply relaxing trip in Zao Onsen. -Location is the best, i literary removed my skis in front of the hotel door after the last slope. The hotel provides space to dry your boots and gloves and store your gears/skis. This hotel is the perfect hotel for skiers and snowboarders. It is in front of multiple gondolas and ski-lifts in Zao Onsen resort. Nearby there are restaurants, ski rental shops and many public bath / Onsen. The hotel is 15 minutes walk to a convenience store ( Lawson) and I personally walked 15 minutes from Zao Onsen bus station to the hotel when I first arrived. - Room was comfortable, spacious, warm and simple. The temperature can be adjusted with an heather. It wasn’t my first time sleeping on the Japanese Futon, and I love it every time. if you want to enjoy Japanese culture this is a good start! Wifi works perfectly. -bathrooms are clean and never crowded. -Staff is wonderful. Ryo and the lady working in the hotel are super kind and sweet. They are very nice and helpful. They will help you in everything you need during your stays. They will recommend you the best onsens, how to rent your skis, how to get your ski pass ticket, how to get to the top on the mountain in 45 minutes like a Japanese to see the snow monsters! To get to the hotel there a many buses during the day from Yamagata station to Zao Onsen bus terminal. From the bus terminal I waked to the hotel with my bag and boots and is not difficult for me even with lots of snow on the road. But there are some taxis to book. Thank you, see you soon

Takasagoya Ryokan está situado en Zao Onsen. Contando con un restaurante, el ryokan de 3 estrellas tiene habitaciones climatizadas con WiFi gratis, cada una con un baño compartido. La cocina es exquisita, me encantó y la disfruté muchísimo, tanto la cena como el desayuno. El trato del personal también súper amigable y atento y la ubicación a un par de minutos hablando de la parada de autobuses.

Me sorprendió mucho lo alto que estaba el lugar pero al llegar me encantó las instalaciones, toda la planta baja era de madera con muchos detalles, todo muy limpio y cómodo para estar, tenía gimnasio el cual utilice, el baño estaba muy bien

El Miyamaso Takamiya está situado a 10 minutos a pie del teleférico de Zao Sky Cable y cuenta con 9 baños termales naturales. Excellent all around. Amazing food and kind staff who were very attentive and accomodating. Hertiage buikding was an amazing serene setting for a holiday.

Son amabilísimos. El sitio céntrico, tienen un gato, son muy atentos y las habitaciones son comodísimas. Llegué cuando estaban cenando y me invitaron a la mesa y se interesaron por todo, es algo que me reconfortó e hizo sentir como en casa.

Loved it from the get go. Beautiful scenery, handy location for the ropeway, nice traditional rooms, very kind staff, tasty buffet style breakfast, lovely onsen.

Establecido a 2.3 km de Zao Onsen, Yamagata Zao Pension Apron Stage ofrece hospedaje de 3 estrellas en Kaminoyama y tiene un jardín, una terraza y un restaurante. This is a great pension run by a lovely family. The husband picked us up at the bus station and drove us to the pension and also took us to the slopes in the morning. They gave us a coupon for renting gear and a map explaining the different onsen options around town. Their English is pretty limited, but they are happy to use Google translate. Also, it was not a big deal, but I think it is important for foreign guests to be aware that ski culture in Japan sort of assumes you are eating dinner at your accommodation. We did not know this and did not book dinner at the hotel. Most restaurants in town were fully booked with reservations (although there is a convenience store with good takeaway food), so try to book dinner at the hotel or make a dinner reservation somewhere well in advance. We were very luck and managed to make a reservation at the Mongolian lamb place Kasheru for the second night and that was amazing. But we saw restaurants turning people away repeatedly because everywhere in town was full. Also, the family will not pick you up by car any later that 6:45 pm (perfectly reasonable) and the public ski shuttles don't run on weekdays, so you need to pre-book a taxi if dinner will end later than that (which it probably will since most restaurants open at 6 pm). And there are not a lot of taxis and no Uber. I wish I had realized all of this up front, but that was our own ignorance and our stay was great regardless. Again, this is just the local ski culture and not the hotel's fault. It's just helpful information for future guests.

Location very good - ski in and out. All the staffs are super friendly and helpful. They know Japanese, English even Mandarin. Bcs of these staffs, the resort truly feels like home myself- cozy and chilled. Cleanliness is good as well. Really appreciate all their help and services. Definitely will stay at the same resort if I come back Zao. Be likes.

Situado en Kaminoyama, a 2.2 km de Zao Onsen, Polar Bear 藏王白熊民宿 cuenta con WiFi gratis y vista a la montaña. It is located around 5-min drive to zao onsen ski resort. The price is reasonable. Room is warm and homey styled. House is very clean and new. The owner is generous and taking good care of guests. No breakfast but it does not matter for us. The host replied in chat so fast.
