All the staff were outstanding in helping with our trip to this marvelous location in such a serene area of Portugal. My only regret is we did not arrange to stay in the hotel longer. Super help from our server for supper. John our server not only made our evening feel very special but he also made some wonderful suggestions for the rest of our trip including somewhere to find some cheese that we enjoyed with our supper. We both found the cod main course splendid. Your staff made this short stay for us feeling relaxed and ready to continue our journey.

Located near Serra da Estrela, this 250-year old manor house has historic furnishings and artistic accessories. Each themed room is a reminder of older way of life. Casa das Obras is an extraordinary property. An old mansion, dating back to the 16th century, but with all the modern comforts. Multiple relaxation rooms, excellently decorated. The breakfast room is a gem. We really liked our room, as well as the garden with the pool and the entire property. The host, Dona Amelia, was also very kind, who gave us a tour of the property and left cakes, tea and coffee for tourists all day. The bed was very comfortable, quiet, central location in the small town of Manteigas and free parking in front of the property. The town is a good starting point for going to the Serra da Estrela mountains and the alpine valleys.

Staff are very nice and polite. Parking available on-site. Breakfast was excellent as well. The views are amazing.

Perfect surroundings. Magnificent view from the apartment. Continental breakfast is perfect and very fresh. The Serra da Estrella natural park provides lots of trekking paths. In the Vila apartment you can enjoy a beautiful view while drinking wine in a jacuzzi :D The trekking during July might be hard due to high temperatures and due to high grass bushes on the path.
