We loved the location of the hotel. It was not a touristy area. The breakfast was fresh and locally sourced. The staff were helpful and responsive to questions. We requested fans for our rooms and those were provided within the hour.

Great location, half way between Salzburg, Berchtesgaden and a 75min trip to Hallstatt via car. Hotel is amazing- nice room size w/couch, comfy bed and plenty of room for suitcases, eg: shrunk. Huge bathroom. 300m flat walk from hotel in Germany to bus stop in Austria (to Salzburg). Bus is free (part of the spa tax at hotel) to Salzburg (where parking is an issue). This hotel has more amenities than any I've stayed at previously (& we travel a lot): very good breakfast/free; counted 19 bikes available for touring the roads/hiking paths for free (all the bikes were kept in amazing shape); indoor pool (& outdoor pool that was a little chilly in October); 2 saunas (at roughly 30C); weight area; exercise area with 2 or 3 cardio machines and the best part- running paths in every direction- typically ran 5-10 miles every morning, loved it. Hotel was absolutely beautiful, could take pic's of it from magazines.

Such a beautiful location, located in a small town atmosphere. Very close to some of the most beautiful parts of Germany I have ever seen. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Restaurant attached for some tasty dinner or a delectable dessert.

I like Bad Reichenhall, It is a very cozy and picturesque place. Even if there weren't so many tourists oriented points around, I'd be getting pleasure just walking through this town. I like the Avalon hotel: its kind stuff, its cozy cafe on the ground floor, its warm atmosphere, and many, many other small things that leave a very pleasant impression. I'd especially express my thanks for disconnecting the rain detector from the marquis management system. This year, I had a chance to have a cigarette looking at the beautiful mountain view sitting on the balcony while it was raining..
