The Daffodil Hotel is in a beautiful location on the lake and directly across from Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. The style fits with the Lake District's historical character. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, and we had a fine view of the lake. Staff was exceptional, from the front desk check-in to the restaurant staff, to the daily maid service - all top notch. Parking was free and more than ample. Moses, the reception manager, provided extra service by accepting an important mailing for us ahead of time. We're grateful. We surely hope to become regular guests here. Very fine. We also found Grasmere to be charming, our favorite in the Lake District.

Impeccable staff - the Spanish lady in the reception especially was amazing! Breakfast selection was nice and fresh! Location was close to everything, a Tesco right in front, bike rental shop, cute little stores, etc. Quaint rooms - lovely view of the town! Facilities - the outdoor hot tub was great!

John, the owner, was very kind and available when we needed him. The house is really big and it has everything you may possibly need for your stay. The place was also clean and close to many shops, restaurants, and other fabulous villages! We are a couple with four small children and we definitely felt at home!

From start to finish we were made feel welcome, even from little Zoe after a few seconds of being shy🤣 we had a room upgrade and couldn’t fault it one bit. We stayed in room 7, it was the perfect size for two people (had bunk beds for kids if required). The spa facilities are a nice touch and are great after a long walk in the snow, although a drive away from the lodge, it makes no difference if you are already out and about. I’ve already recommended the stay to several people so I would highly recommend & will most likely see you again soon!😃
