Our stay at Viseu Ryokan could not have been better! It is a unique, serene experience, in a very clean, modern, small hotel, installed in a historic building. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond with help. We took advantage of the spa experience and with rainy days it was a treat to take a sauna or schedule a massage, in between walks through the historic center of Viseu. Breakfast was delicious, and tea is readily available. We grew to feel at home at the hotel and in Viseu.

Just a 20-minute walk from Viseu's center, this 5-star hotel features an extensive spa, indoor and outdoor pools and spacious rooms decorated with warm, earthy colors. Free parking is available.

We came here with our two dogs. The area is very peaceful. I spent early mornings walking around and viewing the neighborhood gardens filled with grapes, vegetables and fruit orchards. The weather was too cold for me to jump in the pool but the garden area had hammocks and mediation/resting huts that were nice to use after a day of exploring. Morning breakfast delivery in a basket with fresh bread, orange juice and other goodies was a bonus. Beds were very comfortable and place was cozy.

This is a paradise the owner and the lady taken care of the guests were extremely friend and the entire service were of this world especially at night the tranquillity and the lights and music through the entire compound and looking towards the city of Viseu and up above were the stars nice and clear also the SPA and the pools adorable you need to see to believe.
