Wonderful atmosphere as soon you set foot in the lobby and get welcomed with a delicious glass of wine. The rooms continue the theme of relaxing. Very calming tones and serene views. The beds are comfortable and the pillows can be individualized. We ate at the hotel restaurant which was a modern take on fine dining. Delicious selection on foods and wine with exceptionally friendly staff. We ended the night at the rooftop bar where we enjoyed live music and solid cocktails. The popcorn served at the bar was a new flavor explosion and we had to have the secret of their spices, which the friendly bartender happily shared. Breakfast buffet was variety rich and delicious. Free champagne was definitely a plus. I think a major plus is also the direct access to the Therme which makes for a luxurious stay. Rounding off our stay with a massage at the hotel spa. Definitely recommend a stay here. 10/10

We had an exceptional stay at Berghotel Mummelsee ! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, professional, and attentive to every detail. The room was spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax. The location was ideal—close to everything we needed, yet quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious and "NEXT LEVEL" with a great variety, and the service throughout our stay was flawless. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!

Every day the view from our balcony looked more beautiful. We were lucky to have stayed a week in November when it was bright sunshine so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Cycling is so easy as the hotel really is in the middle of the forest but glad we had e-bikes as steep slopes all around. The bridge directly into the forest was an instant immersion into to Schwarzwald. We also took advantage of the wellness program and did qi-jong in the fresh air and reminded ourselves to slow down and breathe! The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to our waitress Anna too.

And there is great food available for breakfast and served for dinner. The hotel is run by a family which creates a great atmosphere and services are delivered with great care and pride. It is relatively easy to travel to Hinterzarten by public transport and the hotel is within 10 mins walk from the railway station. The forest trails start within less than 100 meters from the hotel. There are great many forest walks and lots of things to do in the area.

We recently stayed at this charming hotel during a short trip from Barcelona to France/Germany to visit the Christmas Fair in the region, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, and well designed. We brought our small dog with us, and we were delighted to find a separate little foyer where he could rest comfortably without invading the bedroom. It made our stay so much more pleasant. The bedroom itself was cozy and warm, with a beautiful view of the forest right in front of the hotel: absolutely peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was one of the biggest surprises. It was well curated, offering continental and non-continental options, all fresh and delicious. The owner, a lovely lady, personally came to each table to ask if we would like an egg prepared to our preference, which she cooked herself; my daughter loved it. The location couldn’t have been better. The hotel is right beside Gengenbach, a place we discovered entirely by accident, and it turned out to be magical. We were happy to walk into a beautiful Christmas fair with great food and fantastic local restaurants. We couldn’t be happier with our stay and will definitely return. Highly recommended!
