Situated a few steps from Sumur Tiga Beach, Casa Nemo Beach Resort & Spa offers 2-star accommodation in Sabang and has a garden. Casa Nemo is owned by an Acehnese woman who prioritizes cultivating beautiful experiences and running an ethical, eco-friendly business. The entire resort is beautifully manicured with fruit trees and flowers everywhere. Everything here is done with intention and love. The staff take great pride in their work. Aceh Heritage Village: Right when you walk in, you'll see two beautifully restored historic Acehnese houses featuring hand carved and painted decorations. This is totally unique on the island, and it's a must-see. Sometimes there are events there, so check with the resort to see about the schedule. The restaurant: The restaurant is stunning with an inviting porch that reveals the ocean and the lush landscape. The food is delightful with a mix of Indonesian and Western options. I am gluten free with a sensitive stomach. The restaurant always accommodates my dietary restrictions, and I always feel good after I eat there! If you will be staying awhile, you can even bring your own gluten free flour, and they will prepare something special for you. I love the ayam tangkap (an Acehnese specialty that you can't find many places on the island) and tom yum. The rooms: Every bungalow is done in the traditional Acehnese style with wooden carved decorations. My bungalow had a porch with a hammock which was the perfect place to relax while watching the ocean and listening to the sounds of nature. The bed was comfortable. The shower had hot water and it was easy to control the temperature, which cannot be said of many showers on the island. There was also a fridge and water dispenser in the room including hot water and china cups. The spa: I have had some of the best massages of my life at the spa here. My favorite is the Javanese. Masseuses are expertly trained and accommodating with any issues you may have. Friends of mine have had waxing done with excellent results. The beach: Great for lounging and a gentle swim.

Mercure Bengkulu has an outdoor swimming pool, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Bengkulu. Featuring a bar, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. All the staff were friendly and professional and straight away I was given an upgrade to a sea view room which was fantastic. The hotel itself is stunning and the room I was in was huge. The facilites were all pretty good. The pool could be bigger but its more than sufficient. The cleaning staff did a great job and the location is perfect to explore Bengkulu. This hotel helped make my stay really enjoyable and is a great addition to the town. I can't wait to hopefully return in April.
