Boasting mountain views, Hot Spring Inn Hyoutan provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, a bar and a shared lounge, around 46 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. The couple who own the hotel have been very attentive to our needs. We felt warmly welcomed, like being in a traditional Japanese inn, especially with the hot mineral springs in the two onsens available anytime. The homemade food was amazing! We would love to come back again soon.

Hotel Grand View Takasaki offers cozy rooms with free wired internet and WiFi access, a 15-minute walk or 5-minute cab ride from JR Takasaki Station. Great hotel! The room facilities were great - the massage chair was a nice surprise. The rooftop onsen was wonderful, and is actually larger than the photos make it look. The lounge with the ice pops outside the onsen was also nice. The happy hour in the guest lounge was a delight. We booked two rooms and the staff fulfilled our request of being near each other which was appreciated!

Only a 5-minute walk from JR Kamimoku Train Station, Tatsumikan boasts in 5 indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and meals featuring local dishes. Japanese room was perfect, service stellar, and food amazing. The staff was extremely kind and did everything to help us, even if English was not always easy for them - would definitely recommend for a super nice and authentic experience. Also very nice onsen!

Located in Minakami, 36 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, Super Hydrogen Rich Spa Yado Kanzan provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, free private parking, an open-air bath and a garden.... Everything was above expectations! The room, the onsens, the food and service were excellent. Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Ryokan Tanigawa on 10 minuutin ajomatkan päässä JR Minakamin rautatieasemalta, ja saatavilla on ilmainen edestakainen kuljetuspalvelu. Such a wonderful stay! The staff was wonderful, the food was incredible and the onsen was so peaceful. I would love to stay there again.

Dormy Inn Maebashi is set in Maebashi, 36 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park and 44 km from Kumagaya Rugby Stadium. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space. The breakfast choices were very good as was the restaurant where l had breakfast it was very quiet and relaxing l enjoyed the view.

Hotel Route Inn Annaka offers accommodation in Annaka. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. All rooms include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. You will find a kettle in the room. Friendly and professional staff. Breakfast buffet was great. The restaurant also provided a great selection of food and carry out was available as well.

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Hotel Coco Grand is set in Takasaki, 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park and 49 km from Kumagaya Rugby Stadium. Everything was great! Comfortable room, great location, spacious bath, amazing breakfast and evening bar service. I might have been the only American there, yet it was welcoming and comfortable.

Located in the tranquil forest at the edge of the town, Fukuichi brings 2 hot spring baths and 3 open-air baths for private use. There is a spa, sauna and karaoke facilities. The room was gorgeous and everything I expected and wanted it to be. The staff allowed us to store our bags before checking in, and explained everything thoroughly during. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Ikaho Onsen.

Situated in Kusatsu, Tokinoniwa features 4-star accommodation with private terraces. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Very good stay here, friendly staff. Fully tatami floored hotel with a small garden inside. We booked a room with an onsen bath attached and it was easy to use and very comfortable. The signs on the outside for the bath (attached to the room) are not in English but if it helps anyone the tap on the wall is cold water to dilute the onsen water in the bath if it is too hot to be comfortable. Staff were accommodating and had English menus for the restaurant if required. As is the style in many Ryokans there is a set menu for dinner with only a choice of mains. So keep that in mind for allergies or food dislikes, you can't make changes with regards to the starter menu. During various times of day in the hotel they offered free ramen, ice cream or light meals. If I ever go back to Kusatsu I will most likely stay here again.
