Situated in Awaji and only 35 km from Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, AKUA inn features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything. I cannot fault anything and we can’t wait to stay there again in the future.

Boasting an open-air hot springs bath and spacious garden, Arima Grand Hotel is located a 10-minute walk away from Arima Onsen Station. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.

Situated just 3.5 km from Kinumaki Shrine, Yuraku Kinosaki Spa & Gardens offers accommodation in Toyooka with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as a lift. Oh my goodness, Yuraku was all we ever hoped for and more. Having lived in Japan before, I kind of expected all the pleasures of a ryokan but this property exceeded everything. The room was lovely with a stunning view into the Japanese garden build into a tree lined hillside. The ryokan has a traditional feel to it with lovely wooden structures, tasteful but not overbearing decorations and private and public baths which guests could use in addition to free entry to the towns public hot spring bath houses for which it is famous. The food was fantastic. We had Japanese breakfast on both days of our stay and dinner on one evening. In addition, the service and facilities were great and the staff was wonderful - friendly and discreet. I will recommend this place to all friends who travel to the Kyoto area as an antidote to the hassle and bustle of big city life. Beware that the town itself is quite touristy and can be crowded at times. But as soon as you enter Yuraku ryokan, which is slightly set back from the main streets, you will find yourself in a haven of peace. Strongly recommended!

Set in the woods by Mount Kuruhi, Hotel Shogetsutei is 5 minutes from Kinosaki-Onsen Train Station on the free shuttle. It features beautiful outdoor hot-spring baths and a spa. We stayed at the Nishimuraya Hotel in Kinosaki, and it was an amazing experience. The hotel is very impressive and beautiful, with top-notch service. The staff are extremely professional. The rooms, which are traditional ryokan style, looked fantastic. Room service was excellent, everything was very comfortable, and the view was beautiful. We got to the hotel using the free shuttle they provided. The hotel also arranged traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners, which were simply amazing. It was a true feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Kinosaki is known for its onsen, and we visited all of them, but we liked the one at our hotel the most. It was spacious, had a beautiful courtyard view, and even a sauna, which you won't find in other onsens. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with extra clothing because it was cold, and they even allowed a late checkout so we could enjoy the hotel's facilities after checking out. Overall, it was a wonderful two days, and we felt like we were in paradise. Everything was very relaxing, meditative, beautiful, and of the highest quality.

Yamamotoya is a 7-minute walk from JR Kinosaki Onsen Station and a free 2-way shuttle is provided. It offers Japanese-style accommodation with a brewery, a hot-spring bath and free Wi-Fi. Everything that Yamamotoya offered was beyond what I expected. Yes, it’s pricey compared to other types of accommodation. But be reminded that this is a ryokan, possibly family run. Even the dinner might be considered expensive but it is really a sight for the eyes and a feast for the palette. The adventure of onsen hopping is also wonderful experience for both first timers and repeaters.

Featuring a Japanese garden, hot-spring baths and a vase gallery, Mikuniya is 250 metres from JR Kinosaki-Onsen Train Station. The Japanese rooms have a DVD player and traditional futon beds. Everything was absolutely perfect ! Beautiful room and great service ! We loved everything.

Set in Kobe, 100 metres from Tenjin Gensen, Arima Onsen Takayamaso Hanano offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a spa and wellness centre. I had a room.with hot spring and it was really nice and relaxing. Views are not that great though.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. Amazing first class service and wonderful staff. We loved how quiet and private our room was. Stepping outside and literally hearing birds and being able to see stars at night was amazing. The room and the bathtub are spacious and comfortable. The meals are local cuisine and tasted amazing. This is one of the best experiences Ive ever had at a hotel. The staff was able to check our reservations to the Hello Kitty Show Box as well which was very kind. Thank you very much!
