This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

Onsen has indoor and outdoor options. Great place to relax and be adventurous as you want to.

What can I say, we loved absolutely everything about this hotel, start with it’s literally 50 yards from Nagasaki Station and a large shopping mall so lots of food, the bedroom was amazing, the view from our window was awesome, the breakfast was the best in Japan so far, the staff were so nice we wanted to take them home with us and very importantly, it’s a very quiet hotel where you can simply relax. We will be back for sure!

The service was exceptional from the moment I arrived. Niina and Goto at the welcome desk were genuinely warm, attentive, and made check-in feel effortless. Akaki went above and beyond, personally coordinating restaurant and onsen reservations for me throughout my stay — which made a big difference on a busy itinerary. The room was spotless, the amenities were top-tier, and the location was perfect for accessing the rest of Beppu.

We went as a family of 6 adults and 1 child (3y.o). Our room was two storeys and had ample space for all of us. There was a mix of tatami and 2-beds to sleep. There was 1 toilet on each floor. The room comes with a shower and an outdoor onsen which is perfect in the weather. There were 5 public onsen, all for your own private use - 3 of them are outdoors and do not require reservation. Another 2 needs to be reserved (1-hour slot) which can be done during check-in. We managed to use one of it - it is indoor and really good water, I love it! The meals were delicious and the staff were really kind and helpful. It was a memorable stay for us!
