Onyado Nono Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring tilbyr overnatting i Matsumoto, i nærheten av Matsumoto stasjon og Matsumoto slott. Lots of amenities - onsen, popsicles, evening ramen and range of breakfast options including a lot of options for vegetarians like me.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. Service was excellent, shuttle service was amazing, breakfast was delicious and rooms were very comfortable. Love the coffee machine. Staff were always ready to assist us.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. The service as this Ryokan was 10/10, and was the most authentic one we stayed in during our 4 weeks in Japan. The staff were so lovely, and spoke great English. They showed us to our room, and gave us essentially a "room tour" whilst we drank complimentary tea. They gave us a map with nearby restaurants and ammenties noted on it. The private outdoor onsen was SO nice! You book a slot upon arrival, which you can access in the evening with 30 min slots. The onsen was large and the perfect contrast with the fresh cool air in the evening. Yukatas were provided for us as an option to wear around the hotel - both my partner and I are bigger than the average Japanese person (Wife is plus size, I am 6ft 2) and we both comfortably fit into the ones picked out for us. The only thing that threw us was that during breakfast, they cleared the beds from our room - had we known people would go in, we'd probably have neatened the room a bit haha! P.S don't skip the sushi restaurant a few doors down from the hotel. The sushi was EXQUISITE and they even have a phonetic Japanese to English page at the front so you can have a go at ordering properly with the chef.

Located in the Shibu hot-spring area, Onyado Hishiya Torazo features Japanese-style accommodations. The atmosphere of the place was amazing. Traditional looking building with the best private onsens, the outside one being magical, especially in the snow. Complimentary yakuta to wear made it even better. The host was eager to please and very friendly, giving out hand made origami.

蔕 Heta Nozawa Onsen ligger i Nozawa Onsen i Nagano og har en bar. Her bor du 22 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 33 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark. The property was beautiful, cozy and peaceful. The bath and sauna was exceptional, as was the host Kazuo-san (and the rest of the staff)! We also really liked the bar attached to the hotel - Openbook Yama. It is a branch of a bar in Golden Gai - really cool addition to the property!

I Achi, 2,5 kilometer fra Achi Shrine, ligger 阿智星降りの宿やま星, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en restaurant og en bar. The BBQ dinner private and well prepared, hassle free and nice service!

I Yamanouchi, 4,1 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark, ligger Shoraiso, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. It is by far the most outstanding place we have stayed in throughout Japan. The level of service excellence, the amenities and the attention to detail reaches heights unmatched by any other place we have seen or stayed at.

Le Sauna Villa Hakuba by JAMSZ ROYALE ligger i Hakuba og tilbyr gratis WiFi og utsikt over fjellet. Solomon was an awesome, accommodating host , Le Sauna villa was a wonderful retreat and snow conditions at Hakuba unrivalled ❄️

I Madarao Kogen, 26 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 30 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark, ligger 斑尾高原どんぐり村. Her har du utsikt over fjellet. Cosy home for family of 4. 6 beds in total which slot into the top floor. Because of the roof slant, you'll have to sleep with you head towards the door. In winter the shower area gets chilly. Clean and tidy home and a drive to the ski slopes. The host does however shuttle you to and fro if requested for. Dinner was excellent. Choice between BBQ or Hotpot.

Restmance Pension Woody Hill ligger i Iiyama, bare 25 kilometer fra Ryuoo skianlegg og 30 kilometer fra Jigokudani apepark. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean with excellent, modern, facilities. Our room had a good view, small lounge, kitchenette (we did not use it), separate sinks in each bedroom (we had an adjoining 2nd bedroom).The team there, led by Kenji were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, a lovely breakfast offered each morning with local bacon, local sausage, eggs, freshly baked muffins, amongst other 'Japanese' options. The evening food was delicious: different offerings on various nights. There's also a bar with a great selection of wines and local ciders. Laundry facilities. Overall a fabulous welcoming and helpful team, great accommodation and location (accessible by bus direct from Iiyama Station, walkable to the first lift at Madarao.
