Before our flight back, we were looking for a nice hotel with a swimming pool to celebrate our son’s birthday. This hotel was truly our ‘coup de cœur’—even better than the five-star hotel we stayed in before, and at a fraction of the price. The staff was exceptionally attentive and even surprised our son with a cake and balloons. The atmosphere is peaceful, the restaurant serves delicious food all day, and the swimming pool is simply perfect.

Villa Blue Lotus Katunayake ligger i Katunayaka i Gampaha (region), med St Anthony's Church bare 15 kilometer unna. This is really a hidden gem. A well maintained location with a very helpful staff!!

Her bor du 12 kilometer fra St Anthony's Church, i Katunayaka. - Great location, near the airport, perfect for a stay before or after a flight. - Spacious, clean room, with comfortable bed, good working A/C and Wi-Fi. - I must mention specifically the bathroom which was FULLY equipped with ALL the needed amenities (soap, shampoo, bath gel, conditioner, toothbrush, etc) and it was the ONLY place of all we stayed in Sri Lanka which provided these - not even at a 4-star hotel one can find all these. - The owner is a very kind and helpful gentleman who arranged our pick-up from the airport, welcomed us with fresh watermelon juice. The following day, due to a late departure of our flight, we were lucky to have a nice tour to Negombo, its sights and the fish market, perfectly arranged by him, before we were transferred to the airport. - It must be noted that just opposite the hotel there is a good restaurant open until 23:00 which can be very helpful if you have a late flight arrival. - All in all, one of our best home-stays, highly recommended to everyone.

Set in Negombo, 700 metres from Negombo Beach Park, Green Wood Villa Negombo boasts air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. We were given the family room on the second floor, which is very spacious with high ceilings and two large beds. The room was tastefully decorated and well equipped, with AC, fan and a fridge. It has views over the canal and the large pool. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The property is in a quiet neighborhood a few minutes walk away from the sea front and restaurants. The host was very helpful and arranged our lift to the airport, a 20-25 minute drive away. A great place to start or end a trip to Sri Lanka.
