We spent 2 nights at Royal Rock and had the best time! The staff took such good care of us from the moment we arrived, Suji, Jay and Sana especially, but everyone was so kind and helpful. They have a small van to easily drive you into town or to activities and to pick you up whenever you’re finished. Sana recommended several local activities and took us to beautiful photo spots. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the view of Lion Rock our bed was magical. There is a restaurant on site and the pool was refreshing after hiking up Lion Rock on a hot day. Seriously one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! 10/10

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this family and my entire stay. The owner made everything unbelievably easy. He arranged a my pick up from a very early morning flight from Colombo, set up a safari for me literally an hour after I arrived, and even organized my ride to my next stop in Kandy. He was so kind and understanding right from the start. I hadn’t exchanged money yet and he didn’t want to miss the chance to go on the safari, so he lent me the money until I could pay him back. Gestures like that are so rare and genuinely meant a lot!!! Safari at minneriya national park was one of the greatest experiences. Such a sweet and kind guide (set-up by the owner so have him do it for you!!) picked up/dropped off at the hotel. We saw over 40 elephants. It was spectacular and so much fun! Breakfast was fantastic, and they were incredibly accommodating with food in general. When I arrived, I was welcomed with a cup of tea and some snacks, and every breakfast afterward was delicious. It was also lovely chatting with the owner’s wife—she’s such a joyful, warm person and has the most beautiful garden. The room itself was good it had everything you need. It had a mini fridge stocked with water and pop at very affordable prices, which was super convenient. The walk to Sigiriya Rock was very close I think it took me 30 minutes to the entrance and 15 from the exit. You can take a tuk-tuk if you want, the owner will book it. The main street is about a 10 minute walk. Just a heads-up that it gets quite dark at night, so I have a flash light ready for when you go to dinner. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the owner’s son, who drove me twice. He was so sweet, helpful, and full of great information. Something he said really stuck with me—he mentioned that for them, it’s not about the money, it’s about the people. And you can truly feel that in the way they treat you. People first, always.

Awesome location right in the jungle. We saw monkeys, squirrels and other wildlife. The cabana is basic but a decent size, it worked well for our family of 3. It's an easy walk or tuktuk to cafes, restaurants and activities. A delicious breakfast is served in their covered outdoor eating area and was different each day. The staff were great and happy to arrange our transportation, elephant safari and laundry service. Even though it rained heavily almost the entire time we were in Sigiriya we really enjoyed our time here.

We genuinely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. It felt like coming home – not to one mom, but to many welcoming moms. All the staff took such good care of us and made sure we had the best time. They had great tips on sightseeing and booked a fair priced tuktuk to drive us around Dambulla. The buffet was varied and delicious; the room and garden were tidy, beautiful and clearly looked after; the bed was super comfortable. We really hope we can come back one day.

I ended up here after a really bad experience at one of the other hostels in Sigiriya. The staff were simply awesome. I arrived early and they made an extra efford to prepare the room for me, they helped me with finally obtaining the right converter, the bed I would take home if it was possible and the breakfast was great. Only check twice if the breakfast is still included in the price of the room. When I was there it wasn't. But it's still available at a very good price and it is delicious. All in all, I deeply recommend the place. And did I mention that the location is simply fabolous? And there are several good restaurants in the vicinity.

Whether you are there to relax by the beautiful pool or site see to the famous rock and local attractions Sigiriya cottage will not disappoint! The room was very spacious, and the shower room was the biggest we had, the best shower in Sri Lanka. Shiron and the staff were very kind, helpful and humble. They helped with everything we needed. And the pool was a great bonus. About 20 minutes by tuktuk from Pindaragula rock which was beautiful on sunrise.
