Situated in Clarens and only 26 km from Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Gypsy Wagons and Vans, Clarens features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Loved the uniqueness of the Vans. Fantastic communication with the owner Shane. Lovely and clean. Welcome sherry on arrival lovely touch. Outdoor shower was lovely hot water. In good proximity to the town. Very private and quiet.

For about 24 years, we have been visiting Clarens annually. One of our best experiences was at Gypsy Guesthouse. The friendly reception, neat colourful and well-equipped rooms, and owners (Shane) who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. When we had to leave earlier due to illness and our teenagers wanted to stay longer, an extra free day was offered out of empathy for them. We will certainly want the privilege of staying at Gypsy Guesthouse again; we can recommend it with confidence.

The staff were extremely accommodating when our friends had to check in extremely late. They waited up for us to get back (which was pretty late) and showed them their rooms which we highly appreciated.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, 365@ Vaal De Grace Parys is situated in Parys. The location was easy to find and the place was very spacious, the house was very clean and the book with all the rules were clear and easy to understand.

Set in Frankfort in the Free State region, Kasteelkop Guestfarm features a patio. The accommodation has a spa bath and a hot tub. We truly loved our days at the farm. The house was beautifully furnished, and we found everything we needed, it was clear how much care went into making the space so comfortable. The views were absolutely amazing. We especially enjoyed hiking and exploring around the property, and dipping in the waterfall was a real highlight for us. It made our stay feel extra special and unforgettable. Our dog Rocco also loved running around the property and meeting other dogs. Would come back anytime!

The peaceful and serene atmosphere allowed us to truly unwind and relax. One of the highlights was the variety of friendly pets and farm animals. We loved interacting with them, and you have the option to feed the farm animals—it was such a wholesome experience. The host was fantastic, with great communication from start to finish, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature, animals, and stunning scenery, this is the place to be. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Situated in the foothills of the Drakenberg Escarpment, Wild Horses Lodge features a tranquil garden with an outdoor pool overlooking the Sterkfontein Dam. Very nice overall. Food was really outstanding and a differentiating factor of the hotel.

Located a 14-minute drive from Clarens, Kiara Lodge is set amongst the Maluti Mountains and offers a heated indoor pool, a spa and wellness centre and a children’s playground. I loved the cleanliness of the facility and it is equipped with everything. The staff is friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend it to the families
