Location was wonderful - 10 mins walk to the Porta Nuova Train Station, 15 mins walk to the city centre. The neighbourhood felt very safe and calm. Breakfast, which costs 7 euros, was really nice - the winter garden was lovely and there was a wide variety of food to choose from, especially the sweet options. They also had many tastes of croissants, which is not always the case. Room was very practical - special mention goes to the kettle and mini fridge which proved to be very useful. Staff present 24/7.

Set in Borgo San Dalmazzo, 41 km from Castello della Manta, La Primula offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We stayed for 6 nights and everything was great! The room was clean and very comfortable, with the heating on by the night, and our host was great,we felt like home. Along with us was our dog, he was also welcome to stay in the hotel , a lot of places to take long walks. The restaurant Osteria Pizzeria La Quercia delighted us with great food, wine and a lot of hospitality from Michaela , Luca and their staff !

Only the in hotels usual daily cleaning service was reduced to essentials.

Visiting Stresa and the Borromean Islands during mid October can be a bit tricky due to the rainy autumn weather. But if you are lucky enough to have a good weather, then it is the perfect time to visit the islands. We had an over night stay at Hotel il Verbano and I must admit, this Hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was on the first floor. It was spacious enough, clean and tidy and had a direct access to a large balcony which is shared by all rooms on the said floor. The view is stunning, Isola Madre is just infront of the balcony and on the right side is the majestic Isola Bella. Since it was low season, there were just a couple of guests, so we almost had the balcony exclusively for us. There were chairs/ garden sofas and sun beds enough to accomodate thier guests. The Reception and the Staff are very friendly and professional. We had a great breakfast. Although the choices were limited to several sorts of cheese, cold cuts, pastries, etc., it was the quality of the breakfast that counts. We enjoyed those crunchy freshly baked bread and pastries. I can highly recommend Hotel il Verbano not just due to its location, service and friendly staff, but the unique experience and the tranquility that we had during our short stay on the Isola dei Pescatori.
