Located within 400 metres of Fukuyama Castle Museum, Anchor Hotel Fukuyama in Fukuyama features a number of amenities including a garden, a terrace and a bar. The location was a short walk from the main JR Station and Castle. Easy to spot from the street. Also a short walk away from restaurants and a convenience store. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially when I needed help with the check-in dates.

Free WiFi is available, and a free shuttle is provided to/from the airport.... Staff was excellent and super friendly and helpful - seriously among the best I have experienced in a while! The hotel is very close to the airport so you can easily walk or avail of the free shuttle bus if the weather isn't good. The garden right next to the hotel is nice to check out if you have some free time. I happened to get a room that came with access to their lounge so I could enjoy some drinks.

Situated in Onomichi and only 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Suminoe Ryokan features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Beautiful Ryokan in an old traditional building with a, lovely garden, right next to the sea. I enjoyed my stay right from the start with the warm welcome at check-in (owner could speak some English - thank you). The room was like the photos promised, a cosy futon waiting for me (there was also a tasty lemon treat in the fridge). Although small, the bath was nice and I could relax after a day of cycling. Breakfast was also delicious. Next time, I'll book dinner as well.

Green Spa Tsutsuga features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 49 km of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and 49 km of Atomic Bomb Dome. A wonderful Japanese hotel - the onsen looks out over the countryside, the meals were superb, using fresh seafood and varied tastes, and the proximity to Sandankyo made for excellent exploring options.
