This place is right off the road but still quite peaceful. Feel like you're away from everything but you are not. There are homes nearby but once the sun goes down it gets very dark and the feel of being away from everything and everyone can hit, there's a fire pit out back, and the quite can make it feel like you're in the forest. For the same price of a hotel, you can stay in a small home with all the luxuries of your own home. We just loved it.

Our host was very attentive. The house is located a short distance from the antique village of Micanopy. It is also near Paynes Prairie if you’d like to experience nature. We enjoyed our visit to the Florida History Museum and Butterfly Encounter at the University of Florida which is less than 20 minutes away.StoneGroup

This is the kind of place that takes you back in time and is worth spending a little extra if you like to have a brief revisit to the past. Micanopy is a wonderful old town, one of the oldest inland towns in Florida. I would describe it as more quaint than touristy. But you can easily walk to the the center of the village in about 5 minutes.

Micanopy is a lovely small town, but unfortunately everything was closed when we arrived in the afternoon. The Mansion is beautiful, great breakfast and we were offered some drinks and home made cookies. The history of the mansion is interesting. We hope to come back one day!
