Had everything we could ask for and more. The staff were very welcoming and gave us a tour around before letting us to enjoy. Easy to get into and out of. Perfect location close to Omichi markets. Lovely safe neighbourhood. Just like the photos on the web. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Kanazawa. This is perfect.

Situated in Kanazawa, in a historic building, 2.7 km from Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Machiya Kenroku is a holiday home with a garden and shared lounge. I was a little late finding lodging for our trip, so we regrettably only stayed for 1 night as this place was booked for the rest of our time in Kanazawa - but WOW. Truly amazing place, and Hitty was so incredibly kind to us. He shared the house’s history with us & even brought us up into another part of the house to share some samurai era relics with us. We were personally met by Hitty & given sweets when we arrived, so make sure you give him an accurate time of arrival - we ran late on a tour but he was so gracious and kind about it. He made us a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant and we had an amazing meal. 10/10, highlight of our trip so far & we will be back!!

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Zaimoku-an is situated in Kanazawa, 800 metres from Kenrokuen Garden and 2.6 km from Kanazawa Station. The place is beautiful. The Japanese garden gives a wonder touch. The host Michio was super. He picked us from the train station. Location is also very good.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Ryu TABI-NE is set in Kanazawa, 1.4 km from Myoryuji - Ninja Temple and 3.2 km from Kanazawa Station. The apartment was spacious, easily accommodating 4 adults and 2 children.

Set in Kanazawa and only 2.2 km from Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa no yado Ikedaya offers accommodation with city views, free WiFi and free private parking. This was a wonderful find. The property manager offered and did pick us up from Kanazawa station and drove us to the property (no extra charge)! He then showed us how to use the door lock and the heaters (it was in the 50s when we visited). This is a Japanese home and has a kitchen stocked with pots and pan if you want to do your own cooking. Note they don't have any sauces, salt or sugar on site. We made good use of the washing machine and washed our clothes during our stay. However, it should be noted that even in many Japanese homes they don't use dryers, so had to hang dry our clothes. They did have drying racks at the property to use and we even got our jeans dry by this method. The stairs, again like many Japanese homes, are narrow and the bedrooms are on the second floor, so this might not be the place for you if you struggle with narrow steep stairs. The kitchen has an associated breakfast nook with a nice big window, but there are apartments that are on the other side, so use the blinds if you want privacy. The beds were the best we found in Japan and were warm and comfortable. One bedroom had two full size Western beds and the other room had tatami mats with futons (doubled up for extra comfort). You might be able to fit four people in the tatami mat bedroom if needed. If you haven't slept on tatami mats this is a great place to start. Both bed rooms have great natural light and the neighborhood was nice and quite. Given this was a home we had plenty of space. The home is walking distance from many of the sites you would want to see in Kanazawa including Omicho market, Kenroku-en. We found the most wonderful bakery called Hippo bakery. Japan, 〒920-0855 Ishikawa, Kanazawa, Musashimachi, 14−3 １階. I would highly recommend it for breakfast. We also did the Geisha activity with IN KANAZAWA HOUSE which was amazing! This venue was close to the property and I could send a week doing all their activities.

A recently renovated property, Ichirin Kanazawa is situated in Kanazawa near Kenrokuen Garden, Myoryuji - Ninja Temple and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. A beautiful house in a quiet part of town. We loved the amenities; the house is renovated, has a certain charm, and is very nice and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Located in Kanazawa, 1.3 km from Kanazawa Castle, Suiki Machiya House provides recently renovated accommodation with free WiFi and a garden. Everything! Such a beautiful traditional Japanese house modernized in a very thoughtful way. Location was perfect.
