Kribi was too expensive for what you get.
Kribi was too expensive for what you get. The Residence Le Diamant was a disaster and the owner very aggressive and dismissive. I moved to a different hotel Copacabana beach and enjoyed my stay there.

It is a great getaway destination for those who just like peace, quiet and the sea. There are many wonderful beaches that would suit those who like being with the crowd and those who prefer a more private settings. The cooking is very diverse and tasteful. It is very easy to get around Kribi. Public transport is only carried by motorbikes.

Kribi, the only accessible beach town in Cameroon at the time of writing, is not touristic at all but features some nice hotels and apartments directly at the beach and in the town. There is a small range of free time activities apart from staying at the beach. The night scene is not geared towards tourists and is mostly frequented by locals. There is only one shop for groceries in town and one local market selling clothes and other local necessities - again, not geared towards tourists but locals.

The beach was the best! The pool was also nice and clean. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working at all, and during the week there were no spa services, which was disappointing. The food in the restaurant was really good, but expensive. When I tried to bring in my own wine, they wouldn't let me even though I was spending plenty on food there!

The Fetes de Batanga was a good cultural experience, and interesting to talk to locals about the history. Tips: moto-taxis predominate; hire a driver through e.g. your hotel if you wish to travel by car, and budget accordingly. There are a few banks in town, and supermarkets. Lots of nice beaches. You can buy souvenirs near Les Chutes de Lobe (waterfalls), where they are well set-up for tourists. Kribi is hot and humid, so try and find somewhere with airconditioning. The good thing is that most shops, banks etc. have aircon (in comparison to Yaoundé, for example). Clinique Kamu is a good health clinic, if you need it (NB: we spoke in French; I don't know if they speak English)
The house is very welcoming and well positioned, close to the city centre, restaurants, shops and the beaches. The layout of the house is well suited for couples or a small family. We appreciated the quiet surroundings and the air conditioning that allowed us to rest well. We had a wonderful stay in Kribi and it was really nice to spend 6 nights in the house celebrating new year! The administrator of the house Alain was very prompt in responding to our calls and he brought some nice chairs for us to enjoy the veranda.
By far the best hotel in Kribi. On our second stay at the hotel, it not only didn't disappoint, as it exceeded our expectations, especially the New Year's event that the restaurant put on. Everything about it was wonderfully managed; the food, the entertainment, the ambiance, and most importantly, the wonderful staff. On the other days of our stay, breakfast and dinner were suoerb and most imporantly in Cameroon: quick!
The breakfast was delicious, the location superb and the staff professional and pleasant. Since we traveled with children, it was nice to have a stove- and it's location outside on the patio (with an amazing view!!!) made cooking less of a chore. I highly recommend this hotel.
Very clean, very nice location, quiet and safe neighborhood. Close to the beach and center of Kribi. Easy to take the bus from Douala, 5 min walk to the house. The host was very helpful and friendly. He showed us around and gave us lots of information.
We wanted access to the beach and there are nice, quiet beaches walking distance. Good breakfast and lovely personal, always approachable! There is a restaurant in the hotel next door.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, the rooms clean and comfortable. We slept well and enjoyed a nice breakfast at the lively restaurant on the water.
