perfect place near to motorway but walking distance to centre too

Troyes is well worth a visit, ideally 3-4 days. Lots of historical buildings, streets to see. Some lovely shops, bars and restaurants. Easy to walk around. We found a bar / restaurant called Tante Reine which had a very relaxed atmosphere

It's a busy town, but our host gave clear instructions to find free parking within a five minute walk. This property is right in the historic heart of Troyes, so you really get a feel for the place. The architecture is stunning - tall timber framed merchant houses, and some other stone built elegant structures too. With just a one night stay, and a ferry to catch the following day, we had nowhere near enough time to appreciate it - and no time to visit any of the amazing churches. We need to come again to enjoy it all properly. We ate at a popular grill restaurant in one of the old timber-framed buildings. It was buzzing and busy, but they fitted us in. We enjoyed local food and some champagne from the region.

The old town is lovely: fascinating architecture and quaint laneways. Not buzzing with cars so easy to get around on foot. Every encounter with the locals was pleasant. A nice place to soak in la vie francaise.

Troyes is a fantastic, friendly, safe city. Easy to walk everywhere and so much to see and do a few days is not enough.The museums, medieval houses, churches are fascinating .It is like walking into history. Don't forget to visit the Mediatheque, the collection of ancient books is amazing.After an afternoon of exploring try one of the many cafes for something yummy to eat. Then take a night stroll down to the canal to see Troyes lit up at night!!Jones - 8.0Scored 8.0

An interesting but quite small city. We were recommended Chez Felix for dinner but walked out once we’d seen the very short menu with wines starting at 39 euros. We went to Grill St Jean instead, which was enjoyable; not haute cuisine but perfectly acceptable.IvanUnited Kingdom

Public parking right across the street. Easy in/out with app. Host was the most amazing host we have ever had- made reservations for us at several of the best restaurants in the region. Wish we had known more about this place, would have liked to stay a week. Close to center of town, would have stayed longer if we had known this place. Will definitely stay again if we are within 100 miles! Would give 10 stars.

The shops and restaurants are just around. The apartment is very modern, clean and cosy! We had everything needed and also enjoyed the coffee and some snacks provided by the host. The public parking ( under city) townhall is very close and not very expensive. Our host Christophe was very friendly, easy reachable and ready to advise in case of any questions. We've really enjoyed our stay and if one day we return to Troyes, we'll surely stay here again! :)

Great for our dogs as super dog friendly with lots of green spaces for comfort breaks outside. Very clean, with an easy and pheasant walk to centre. Breakfast was really good too. First decent cup of tea in ages! We travel through central France to get from north to south and back a lot. This is our new favourite hotel.

Our room was spacious and well furnished. We appreciated the kitchenette fridge which enabled is to chill our bottled water for the following day. A lovely breakfast was provided by our friendly host. Secure parking was also an important factor for us. Accommodation like this makes traveling in France a real pleasure!

We arrived in November and the heating was on so we enjoyed cups of tea sitting in the comfortable living room planning our evening. Edwige even went out to buy milk for us. The house is centrally located and makes an excellent base for en route travel between the UK and France. We will certainly stay again
