One of the best places I've ever stayed. It's not the right place for those who want something luxury but it's the place for people appreciating good taste and home atmosphere. It's former jail, yes, but it's one of the coziest places I've seen. I enjoyed everything: cozy atmosphere, comfortable bed, inner decor, breakfast, easy check in at night. Special thank you for fresh flowers and candles! They really gave the feeling of home. It was so nice to talk to the owner at the end of my stay and to learn the story of family business. Set in a former medical officer’s villa, this central Umeå hotel is 328 feet from the Ume River. Sauna, relaxation area and WiFi access are free, as is a light evening buffet. We like to stay in places that are very comfortable - like our home. Being in a foreign city we appreciated that all the meals were included and the quality of the food was very good - saved us looking for ages for somewhere to eat as we are not the most decisive people! Your staff were very friendly and 'can do' people. It makes such a difference.

The location was good, the room was beautiful, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Extremely quiet in the room, it felt like we were the only ones there. Breakfast was nice. We have stayed in a few different hotels in Umeå and this is by far our favourite.
