Set in a former medical officer’s villa, this central Umeå hotel is 328 feet from the Ume River. Sauna, relaxation area and WiFi access are free, as is a light evening buffet. This place is a real home from home with very welcoming staff. It is an attractive hotel, the front part being a historic building and there are photos around the hotel to explain the history. There is a free buffet dinner included in the price as well as an excellent breakfast. And waffles mid-afternoon! They also did a bag of laundry for us, useful since we were on a long trip. The hotel is situated near the river and the town hall, an easy 15 minutes from the station. Our room was a good size with all we needed.
