We had a fabulous visit, from start to finish. Our hosts (Emilia and Riccardo) came out to the street to meet us, and made us feel super welcome. Emilia sat down with us for the formalities, and was fine with taking down our information instead of photographing our passports. Everyone was super laid back and kind and in no rush, and it felt more like we were meeting friends than renting a place. They also had bought us pastries! The apartment was clean, tastefully furnished, quiet, and very spacious. We had brought all our own food and cleaning products, but it was still nice to see they had things like oil and laundry detergent on hand for guests. After check-in, even though it was already dark, Emilia took us down to the vegetable garden, which had been a big draw for us. We were expecting it to be a few square meters, but it was actually the quarter of the size of a soccer field! Bucketfuls of tomatoes weighing down rows and rows of vines, eggplant, bell peppers, et al. She then proceeded to pick the vegetables for us, very liberally. So liberally in fact that I started making mental edits to the list of meals I had been planning to cook while there! In addition to this, Emilia's mother, Carolina---also a paragon of congeniality!---came out while we were out, to bring us garlic and onions. Basically, we really felt welcome, and were really pleasantly surprised by the unexpected bounty. How great the apartment was didn't hit us until the next morning, when we could see it in the light of day: on the older side, very well preserved (or renovated), with spacious rooms, and very high ceilings, and spectacular views, on both sides of the apartment. From the bedroom and its balcony, you can look out to the orchard, the vegetable garden, the hills, and the Mediterranean; from the kitchen and its balcony, you can look out onto the orchard and the rooftops of Bomerano (and all from the kitchen table, without having to stand up or even move).

A recently renovated apartment in Castellammare di Stabia and within 18 km of Ercolano Ruins, Villa Marisa Resort features a garden, comfortable soundproof rooms and free WiFi. We had a great time at Villa Marisa. The accommodation is close to the train station “Pioppaino” where nearly all the Circumvesuviana trains stop. The city center of Castellamare di Stabia is only two stops away. Alternatively, you can walk there within an hour, the second half along the nice promenade. We travelled completely without car, only by train and bus, which was easily possible. The spacious rooms are minimalistic furnished, but with everything you need. The garden is beautiful. There you can sit comfortably and relax. The bar across the street offers best Italian breakfast with delicious pastry and great coffee. The host was always friendly and supportive, easily reachable via WhatsApp. He answered all our questions (and we had many :) ), gave us good recommendations (beaches, restaurants, …) and showed us also places apart from the touristic spots.

The property is absolutely beautiful, well decorated, comfortable, spacious and great location. The service was amazing as well, concierge communicated with me and arranged everything from restaurants to parking and tours. Superb! Can’t wait to come back
