A fabulous seafront palace in true sense. Its on a serene beach of Bay of Bengal- away from the hustle of Chennai. Miles of beautiful yet authentic sandy beach flanked by actual fishing villages. Real boatmen leaving for fishing in early mornings. The check-in was very formal where we were greeted by Shreyashi who surprised us with a traditional head cap and glass of welcome drink. The rooms were kingly decorated. There were plenty of programs/activities. In the evening, Buddhadev invited many guests for a complimentary photo shoot with his special camera. And a framed portrait was ready at check out! Truely amazing services. The breakfast spread was rich, with numerous choices of South Indian themes. During this years circuit tour of India, I am spending my consecutive nights in similar hotels in multiple regions of India. Food wise it is very comparable to the better ones - all are featured by dosa, omelet bar, and too many choices. Additionally, here a locally costumed musician lighted up the morning environment with the sweet tune of flute.

Marutham Village Resort in Mamallapuram is an absolute gem! This traditional Tamil village-themed resort offers an unforgettable experience that seamlessly blends rural charm with modern comforts. From the enchanting bullock cart rides to the captivating cultural programs like Karakaattam, every moment here is a journey into the heart of Tamil culture. The cow farm, pumpset shower, and warm hospitality of the staff all contribute to the authenticity and warmth of the stay. My 1.5-day visit was far too short to fully savor everything this resort has to offer, and I'm already planning my return for a longer stay. It's a definite 5-star destination, and I can't wait to immerse myself in this cultural haven once again!

We stayed at the resort for three nights. We initially booked the 1-room chalet but once we got there we decided to upgrade to the chalet, which is more spacious inside and also has a small private patio. The location is great because it is nice and quiet on the outskirts of town but it is still easy to get into town. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite especially the young woman (unfortunately I don't know her name), who seemed to be the duty manager. The onsite restaurant is good, lunch and dinner is made to order and there is a good choice. The aviary was a nice little additional feature and the gentleman who looks after the parrots is very helpful showing you the birds.

We booked this trip for our parents as a gift and they enjoyed it so much! Very happy with the room facilities, the food and they said the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Brilliantly located, seconds walk from the beach and only a few minutes to the centre of Mahabalipuram. The room itself was extremely spacious, comfortable and clean. The AC kept me cool in the summer heat. Would highly recommend a stay here!
