This is an extraordinary accommodation hosted by Julien and Sarah Launois who run a marvellous champagne house. Three of five apartments are located directly at the winery and you can basically watch the daily business of the winery, emptying casks, filling bottles from the terrace in the courtyard. Our apartment was not directly in the courtyard but 100m further in another house, but the apartment was spacious and beautiful and absolutely clean. Each apartment as well as the breakfast room are designed by Sarah Launois with the utmost attention of detail. You can also have a tour through the winery with a tasting of their champagne—it is a wine enthusiast's paradise. The winery is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a village which is located in the south of the Champagne region, perfect to explore the Côte des Blancs of the champagne, but also just a 20mins drive to Epernay and 45 mins to Reims.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by the very friendly owner. The room was very nice with a balcony overlooking a small chateau and a village street. Still, there were no problem with traffic noice because there was little traffic. We enjoyed staying on the balcony for a while before going to bed, sipping on a beer from the mini-bar in the living room located on the ground floor. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was small but well organized. The breakfast varied with very good bread from the local bakery as well as made by the owner himself. We were very pleased to taste a variety of homemade and a local speciality of jam. We also liked the local cheeses and the charcuterie. We were also asked if we wanted any egg meals cooked on demand. An option for this B&B was to have a dinner with the owners and other guests. We had a nice champagne aperitif in the garden followed by a tasty three course meal. We had a really pleasant evening that we shared with a German couple. The owners made the conversation very comfortable, fun and interesting during these hours. During our visit we felt like their personal guests. Many thanks Franck and Carine for a wonderful stay.
