Breakfast was excellent and typical scottish in a nice family dining room with old family portraits. The landlord told us the fitting stories about the painted persons. He speaks good German too.

Carolyn was the nicest! The room was huge and modern, for sure a good value for money... If you are thinking of spending a couple of days in Edinburgh I recommend taking this guest house into consideration, even though it is not in the heart of the town by bus you can get to the city center in 30 minutes (there are night buses as well) and at least you can enjoy a nice and comfy room

Set in the village of Roslin, The Original Rosslyn Inn is an idyllic village inn, just 8 miles from Edinburgh’s city centre. This family-run property has a traditional pub and a fine dining restaurant.

The staff went above expectations to insure we had a great stay. Restaurant was exceptional. Neighborhood Lounge and bar was on premise. Bus stop at hotel entrance. Loved the thick walls and breakfast room decor. But the staff is what makes this an excellent place to stay. Location is about twelve miles out of Edinburgh and is in walking distance to Roslyn Chapel.

We were visiting Roslyn Chapel. Chapel Cross Guesthouse was about 500 m from the place.. Lovely rooms, warm , hot water, comfortable beds in both rooms. Lovely view from windows . Fantastic tea room on ground floor, where we had our breakfast. I am sure we will come back here.

Every single member of staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Adam who was there every breakfast time and helped us with lots of local information. The food was also excellent. The room and whole pub was spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was also good. The bus service is regular and cheap (£1.80 into the city centre) and stops right outside the pub.

I was self catering. Every appliance in the cottage was easy to use. I had a gorgeous view of the Pentland hills and was surrounded by fields. Excellent privacy in the cottage. A huge private garden. Lovely walking from my doorstep. Beautifully quiet. A real get away from it all type of experience.
