Dan was a really good host. The accommodation had every little detail you could ask for. The TV entertainment was top-notch. He even had homegrown pickle pepper in the kitchen for our use hahahahaha 😆

Debbie and Simon were very welcoming, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by a lovely very well kept garden, a very nice courtyard offering secure car parking. The accommodation itself is stunning inside and out, excellent amenities and cleaned to a very high standard.

Great place to stay as always, the staff are always pleasant and remember you from previous trips. Room 8 is one of the higher priced suites but is superb with a large bathroom including both a bath and separate shower. 1/3 of the price of the George in Stamford but in my opinion has better rooms. A great breakfast which sets you up for the day. Will be returning without a doubt.

The staff was very kind. The property & pub are the kind of place one would like to stay if one wants a traditional English experience. Breakfast was very good. A couple of slices of cake, milk, & bottled water was waiting for us when arrived. I would definitely come back here.

I ended up at the Black Horse after being stranded at Peterborough due to an LNER situation - I tried booking hotels in town and they had run out of spaces so I randomly chose a reasonably priced one that was accessible - which ended up being the Black Horse. It looked very nice from the photos and lived up to this image - it's a gorgeous place - an old-fashioned inn with a restaurant, bar and rooms, beautifully decorated. The young woman on duty who checked me in (I can't remember her name but she was great) was extremely welcoming, reassuring and accommodating. The dinner was exceptional - the best gluten-free fish and chips I have tasted! (Coeliacs should check if the tartare sauce is gluten free though) It was great to be so warm and well-fed in such a nice environment after being stuck on the train and then a cold platform for several hours. I'd definitely recommend this place. My room was large and comfortable with space to work and a really good shower. They even let me work remotely the next morning teaching music online no bother! (In fact I got a round of applause from the locals in bar next door when I finished :D) Altogether very friendly, comfortable, amenable and relaxed place. The young bar staff were also great - relaxed, resourceful and accommodating. I'd definitely choose to stay here if I was in the area again, absolutely.

We had the whole place to ourselves as only two of us there’s a lovely lounge with comfortable sofas and large tv lovely size kitchen with everything you could need toilet downstairs we had a peaceful night on the double bed carpet upstairs was soft under your feet shower was lovely hot water plenty of pressure same as the bath the place is very well look after there’s a local premier shop 5 min walk away as well as nearby Morrisons 10 mins by car all in all I’ll come back and stay again
