Horgen is a charming little village, lovely to walk around. It has a quaint centre and a beautiful waterfront. Easy travel into Zurich by train. Easy travel to mountains and skiing by train or car.
Good supermarkets with good opening hours.
We didn’t try the restaurants as we were visiting relatives but we did get a great takeaway - burritos. You can even swim in Lake Zurich by walking down to the waterside at various points.

Zürich is a very expensive city so finding a reasonably priced hotel isn't easy. While the facilities at this one are fairly basic, you get what you pay for and cleanliness and value for money mattered more - both were excellent. The generous buffet breakfast included freshly baked bread and delicious muesli and, had I wanted it, I could have had much more than I did. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful so it was a pleasure to give them my business.
This unpretentious hotel offers quiet rooms with lake views and a decent breakfast at hard to beat rates. The host is agreeable and flexible, arranging for late arrivals thanks to a key lockbox. Horgen can very easily be reached by S-Bahn from Zurich, and there are busses to the station 2x/hour passing right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is brand new, well decorated and modern rooms. The bed was amazing! I travel a lot for work and I never stayed in a hotel with better bed. Also I’m really picky with pillows and this one was spot on. The breakfast was really nice as well, small selection but good quality.
The place is fine if you just need a place to sleep and have breakfast near Zürich for work and have a car to move around. It is closed to the lake and a 10 min walk from Horgen train station. The breakfast was good and it was clean.
Esther was extremely friendly and kind. Although the house is not in the center, it is close to public transportation and there is free parking in front. The house overlooking Lake Zurich was very clean and comfortable.

The ability to make my own breakfast was what made me choose the appartment instead of a regular hotel:-) Location's close to the lake and to the station with trains and buses, I found the location great.
Traditional Swiss hotel, Fantastic location, warm and cosy, real Christmas feel, attention and care for detail, owners have a real eye for design. Breakfast was superbly laid out and of high quality.
It’s in a great location, right opposite the train station (Horgen) and the rail system is pretty easy to use. You can also get buses just outside. The internal decor is also beautiful.
