The rooms and the bathrooms were clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel is situated in the middle of the Morvan, so you can really enjoy the silence.

Nice little town. Excellent base to visiting the Morvan. Many walks nearby. Wonderful places to visit: Autun, Avallon, Semur-en Auxois, Vezelay***, Auxerre. Beautiful lakes. The town boasts one of the best restaurants of France, if not the whole world. It is truly mythical. But it will cost you an arm and a leg. If you stay in an apartment you can enjoy buying your own food in the many shops. Or on the saturday market.
Everything was excellent from check in to check out. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast couldn’t have been better. We were concerned that we would find that the traffic noise would be excessive having read other reviews. Our room was on the main road side. I’m a light sleeper but didn’t notice noise (double glazing)
Couldn’t fault the room for furnishings and cleanliness. Great lounge for relaxing after dinner.

Our room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The hotel is on a busy road but we could not hear anything from the hotel. The food at their restaurant was outstanding! Beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was kind and professional. The salon is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We loved it!

Lovely old building in the centre of an historic small town. Excellent meal in the hotel restaurant, eating on the garden terrace, with really imaginative and delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. dog friendly floors in the rooms - terracotta tiles.
The staff, gardens, spa & restaurants are wonderful. The room was very large and nice. Top quality staff without feeling stuffy or uptight. Service provided with humor and quiet competence. Would love to visit again.
Katy was very welcoming and kept the place very clean. The location in the center of Saulieu is excellent for stores, restaurants and exploring the area (Morvan and vineyards). Big plus was the secure bike storage.
The restaurant is exceptional and to relax drink great wine it makes sense to stay. The town is charming but we used it as a gateway for three days in Burgundy wine country and tastings
