The location is right on the fringe of the old town of Grignan, which is about as charming a town as one can imagine in the Drôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. The town is like something out of a romance novel, with its hilltop castle and narrow, medieval pedestrian lanes lined with shops (potters, bookmakers, clothing, etc.), and the hotel is decorated to match its charm. Of our 2-week stay in southern France, it was the most attractive hotel by far. Our family of 5 plus dog stayed in rooms 1 and 2, which were large and beautiful furnished. There was a private patio, and those two rooms are set off from the hotel's other rooms for heightened privacy and quiet. The breakfast was typical continental European, but with a much wider selection of jams and some other items not always found at continental breakfasts, and the service was friendly and quick (both of which are rare to find in France). We would recommend staying here as a base to explore the region, as several other towns with castles and several vintner "domaines" lie within easy drive of Grignan.
We wished we would have chosen to stay longer, both because of the hotel and the town itself. We would recommend both to anyone.
If you do go during the high season like we did (July, August), be sure to reserve all your dinners at your restaurant of choice, even in a small town like Grignan, or you will not likely find seating, especially for families. Even places like pizzerias book all their tables up, so pre-determine your dinner spot by lunchtime and reserve a table for later.
Featuring an outdoor heated pool, a large garden and a sun terrace, La Ferme Chapouton - Teritoria is a building dating from the 18th century set in Grignan.
L'Horloge Gourmande is located 1.2 mi from the center of Donzère, beside the Rhône River, and 12 mi from the Château de Grignan.

Clean, welcoming staff with friendly service. Great for a one night stay, easy access from auto route. Efficient aircon, good restaurant with very attentive staff. Very friendly owner.
Lovely hotel. Helpful and very friendly staff. Restaurant had set menu which was very good with excellent service.
Beautiful gardens and pool (sorry the weather was too cold to use it).
All the floors creaked in the hotel rooms (we had 2 rooms) and it was disconcerting to think that maybe floors underneath and we, from above guests rooms, would be bothered by it, but no..... apparently it is a "charming" feature of the beautiful renovated hotel. Would love to stay there again. Grignan close by is a gem of a town.
Domaine les Mejeonnes is a charming ivy clad hotel. We spent a night here en route to the South. The room was simple but clean and comfortable and there was air conditioning. We had a delicious dinner on the terrace restaurant. Service was pretty slow but they were very busy. The pool area looked lovely but we didn’t go in it. Breakfast was also served on the terrace and was very pleasant. A great overnight stay and we would definitely return.
The room was very confortable, also the beds. We were in Vanessa's room.
The breakfast was delicious, and we had it in the terrace which had a great view.
The location was also very good, close enough to the highway, however not too much to have the noise. Even though a smaller road was passing by the hotel, the noise was not an issue at all.
The spa was great, as the swimming pool was a bit cold for a late afternoon.
The hotel was perfectly located not far from the motorway for our onward journey north from and yet set in beautiful countryside. The pool is an additional bonus and was perfect for us travelling as a young family. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely want to stay there again if in the area.
