Beautiful town with plenty of great restaurants to try!
Beautiful town with plenty of great restaurants to try! We stayed for 6 nights and it was a brilliant base for exploring other towns in the area. There is not a huge amount of shopping in Vitre if this is what you are after but some lovely bars to visit in the evening! We spent one day exploring Vitre itself and this was plenty. Small food market on a Tuesday which is nice if you want to pick up a couple of items for lunch!

Very pretty town with lots of interesting buildings: many timber-framed and some with arcades. Ramparts. Impressive chateau and museum. Good restaurants - try "Pieds Sous la Table" for a very good, very reasobaly priced menu.
Very pleasant interior to hotel. Parking available at reasonable price in underground garage. Lift from garage to all floors - very useful. Large, calm lounge and bar area by reception. (Guitar available here - great idea.)
Pleasant, spacious breakfast area and good breakfast. Short stroll to beautiful Vitre town centre. Very pleased with stay.

The room was clean with ensuite facilities and had a cold air ventilator, essential in hot weather. Breakfast was continental buffet style and very good. The hotel is in the heart of Vitre very close to the historic centre. The proprietor was very helpful and recommended a place to eat and it was excellent (actually next door La Table de Vitre).
I stayed in this hotel quite a few times even during Covid. I love the restaurant and breakfast. It is a great location, amazing city and area to visit, exercise and/or meet team and customers.
The Magic is well located and staffed with a very nice and professional team!

The location is fantastic and the room itself is really nicely furnished. It was very clean. A really good use of space and very novel to get to stay in a tower. Vitré itself is a wonderful fairy tale town and there were lots of restaurants in the vicinity.
the location was excellent. an easy walk from the historic centre of Vitre. In the morning i walked outside and heard 12 different birds singing. fold out sofa bed was really comfortable.
Great choice - breakfast. Central location - easy access to the old part of the town - 5 min walk from the beautiful castle. Staff very helpful . Pleasure to stay in this hotel
