This is a genuine B&B in the owner’s house in a small village. We were received with warmth and treated as cherished guests.. The room is quite comfortable with good beds. The breakfast, too, was good. The only drawback was that there are few facilities in the village. There is supposef to be a bar, but it was closed. We found an open bar in another village which kindly prepared an in promtu meal.

The house was amazing. Six suites, extremely comfortable in the winter. Heat and an amazing fireplace. We travelled with kids and they had an amazing time in first floor playing ping pong. The house is big and can easily accommodate groups. Totally recommend it. There is also a very appealing pool outside for summer stays.

Although Arronches is a small village, it has some brilliant restaurants. It is ideally located for visiting the Serra Mamede Natural Park, with its fortified hill top towns, such as Alegrete and Marvão.
There are a wealth of beautiful towns and interesting places with 20 minutes drive of Arronches. Just up the road is the wonderfully friendly Reynolds Winery, while 10 minutes in the direction of Campo Maior is the Coffee Science Centre.
The Alentejo is a vast area, so there will always be some travelling to get around. We found Arronches to be a great base for exploring the area.

Arronches struck us as a nice village/small town.
Arronches struck us as a nice village/small town. We stayed on a Sunday night which did mean that few restaurants and bars were open ( which is not uncommon in the Alentejo.) Thankfully we found a brilliant bar/small restaurant called A Cabana. Family run, excellent authentic food - menu on a chalk board. A must find if you are in Arronches.
A lovely large, clean apartment in a beautiful quiet location. Breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly and the two dogs were absolutely adorable, friendly and very obedient (even to a foreigner!). Quite close to Arronches where there are some pretty good restaurants.
