Local castle is beeing greatly renovated and it is already worth seeing it. Vimperk is charming town with rest of city wall under mountain and can be the starting point for hiking or cycling in Šumava Mountains (or Böhmerwald, how the Germans call them).

We asked for change of room to have to single beds last min ahead of trip and they facilitated us. Hotel was not too busy, nights were quiet. There is no air conditioning in summer which would be appreciated during hot summer night. Nice location by the river.

It's next to a river which gives freshness and quiet to the building. They were very accomodating with our arrival time as we had to come late in the evening. We really appreciated it. The story of the place is fascinating with it being a paper factory in the past. The conversion was well done.
