There isn’t much open at lunchtime and shops open for a couple of hours in the evening. Not many places to eat so make a reservation and they tend to only open from 7-8.30. Lovely for a stroll around in summer months, not sure what you would do in winter. Crazy golf was fun and the main golf course looked lovely although I don’t play!

Good breakfast but room not great, it is a very ancient building so not unexpected, but they could have mended the broken shower.
Very noisy second night due to wedding party underneath my room, a reduction might have made it more palatable.

We arrived in Bellême on a Monday evening and stayed two nights, expecting the surrounding forest to be something highly worth exploring. I'm sorry to say that there are much more interesting ones around, and that the town itself felt very much dead. On the first evening no restaurants were open at all; on the second we found a decent pizzeria/crêperie that was quite nice. Apparently most guests are there Thursday-Sunday. Town itself was okay, with a small old centre, a nice park and a swimming pool, but nothing particularly remarkable.
Charming and beautifully furnished rooms. During a recent two-night stay, we shared the one-bedroom house/flat with our teenage daughter and found the floorpan and space to be very spacious and comfortable (total of 3 people). While we had a kitchen, we visited the boulangerie a few doors away for bread and coffee. Bellême is a lovely town. We look forward to a future visit and staying with Michael and Malika again. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
It is in the center of the village, close to everything. It was very clean and the proprietor made every effort to be sure I was comfortable- I certainly was! She provided information about the masseuse in the building who was charming and very skilled.
It was very quiet, a perfect place to get over jet lag and enjoy Belleme. I was pampered with coffee, brioche, juice waiting for me in the darling kitchen. Thank you, Yasmine!
The history. Built in the early 1400’s, it was incredible to hear the history of the Château and who had stayed there in the time of the Marquis who built it. Anna looked after us so well. It was very quiet and peaceful there too. We felt special and appreciated the experience. The town of Bélleme is only a few minutes drive away with great restaurants and is worth a walk around. Absolutely magnificent. Loved it!
Lovely overnight stay. Reception staff polite and efficient. Accommodation basic but clean with everything that you need. Located on a beautiful quiet golf course with a nice veranda at clubhouse to enjoy drinks looking at rolling fairways. Belleme is about a 20 minute pretty walk into town, it is very quaint & pretty town but very few eating options open early on in the week. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The interior and outdoor areas are just beautiful and very tastefully appointed. The photos do not do it justice. The co-owner Yves was super friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, right next to the excellent Le Verticale restaurant and with free parking in the square. Can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back
The apartment, a great space, loads to see in the locale and we aren't golf fans. Looking at the course I wish I was a golfer! The kitchen was well equipped, clean and easy to use. We used the apartment as a base for our travels in Bellême, walking through the town was excellent, the whole area is just beautiful!
Lovely and charming property with very friendly hosts, set in the beautiful and photogenic Bellême. Ideal to have such an historic place to stay in rural France within walking distance of various restaurants.
Fantastic helpful couple we booked on spec and had the apartment at the rear overlooking the garden This typifies why we prefer owners rather than hotels, true taste of France
