Livanates is a small beach resort which seems mainly to cater to Athenians seeking a weekend away from city bustle, or perhaps to travellers like us who wish to enjoy one last swim while remaining within striking distance of Athens airport. Thus, we were not expecting much more than the swim, a clean room and hopefully a meal, but were pleasantly surprised to arrive at a high (3*/4*) quality hotel, with a sparkling lobby, covered parking, well-maintained grounds, a swimming pool and a spacious balcony outside our room, all within a few metres of the sea and a row of taverns and restaurants. An excellent buffet breakfast was served the next morning and Evie, the manageress could not have been kinder and more friendly. What a great ending to our holiday.

Excellent service. Very good hotel by the beach. The guy working at the reception helped us find a good restaurant for dinner and was very kind to explain everything about the area. Perfect morning sea view from the balcony.
The room contains everything offered by hotels with 5 stars and even more....like slippers for walking in the room and complete hygiene equipment including toothpaste and toothbrush.
On leaving, they gave us olives specially prepared for the trip as a greeting for a good journey.
I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

The host/owner was fabulous, as was the breakfast. We went during the OFF season, so there was nobody in the area and nothing to do, which was sort of what we were looking for. There is a very quaint old-style feel to the hotel with public sitting rooms on each level for reading and kids to play.

Dimitris met us with a warm smile and welcomed us like a long lost member of the family. He showed us around and made sure we were completely settled and established. He provided us with a fully stocked fridge and kitchen and even booked us a table at his recommended local seafood restaurant, which was fantastic. He even went and got additional keys cut for us due to the needs of our group. A wonderful home away from home. The home was perfect and beautifully spacious. Thank you Dimitris! We look forward to staying with you again next year.

excellent location (in the center of practically everything). Hostess Maria was great: personable, accommodating, following through promptly, flexible, and polite. Breakfast was decent with some variation from day to day. The price was also reasonable. Also, I appreciated the ceiling fan as I don't like to use the air condition.

We were expecting to spend some more time on the beaches but...
We were expecting to spend some more time on the beaches but they were not nice. The area was a ghost town. Only 2 or 3 restaurants. Everything was pretty run down. It seems like it was probably a really hopping places 30 years ago but has not been maintained. Mostly a place to spend the night, not a destination in itself.
