Situated in Chiang Mai and with Chiang Mai Bus Station reachable within 4.9 km, Rim Tara Residence Patan features a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. It was modern and had an elevator to the upper floors. The staff were very helpful and courteous.

The rooms/suites are spread among several houses, each of which has an outdoor space. There are also numerous common areas to relax. We had a spacious and comfortable family suite, next to the lovely pool. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Staff are super-friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the cooking class — best part was the trip to the local Ruamchok market. Also appreciated the 2x/day shuttle into Chiang Mai, which made the slightly out-of-town location more manageable.

The room was extremely clean, large, and quiet with a sunny balcony where I could see the birds singing. The swimming pool, the fish pond, and the well maintained surrounding green area and facilities made me very relaxed. The owner - Marcel and staff - Mae and Jam, were very friendly and they just liked my family members. Marcel not only gave me a brief introduction of the room facilities but also provided me with constructive ideas in planning my trip (visiting the nearby Coconut Market). Apart from this, the breakfast was extremely good with many varieties, like fresh fruit juice, pancakes, fruits, bread, scrambled eggs, and beacons. Also, I could borrow Marcel's bicycle to cycle around the nearby market to see more local life. That's the most comfortable, relaxed guesthouse in Chiang Mai. Definitely, I will come back again (actually, I have booked this guesthouse again in 2/2024).
