We only had an overnight unfortunately. Its a secluded spot, but the grounds are beautiful with lovely short walks. we loved the building, the decor and the staff. Wonderful people, lively conversation and great knowledge of the area.

Everything! Such a great. relaxing and special place to stay. We planned to eat out in Keswick some evenings as we were staying for 3 nights. However we couldn’t drag ourselves away as the food was all fantastic. We also loved the way that dogs were treated. They could go everywhere too. They even had a sink outside for muddy paws with warm water and fresh towels.

Michael was really helpful in agreeing to meet us a little earlier than originally estimated. The cottage is lovely, with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. We enjoyed 2 evening meals in the pub next door. Climbed up Skiddaw from the cottage - a wonderful walk. Thank you.

Lovely homely cottage in a beautiful area. Perfect for a family of 4 with good access to all of the Lake District. All of us including both our children (12) &(10) loved the cottage. It had everything you need amazing shower, brilliant kitchen that has everything and the fire place is fantastic for nice warm family nights inside after a long day walking. We ordered a Tesco delivery for the day we arrived which was a massive bonus. We will certainly be staying again next year!!

The location is really great. You can start walking the Skiddaw fells right from the house. And the views (scotland is even visible on clear days) are stunning. There are no other houses/people nearby so it is wonderfully quiet, only the sounds of the sheep, chickens and the weather. The house is wonderfully warm and with excellent kitchen facilities.

I didn't use the spa as I was primarily wanting to walk and relax with my grown up children who live here while I live in South Africa. The breakfast was good with one exception - today someone ate all the pastries - maybe some frozen croissants for emergencies? the restaurant produces excellent quality and quantity meals. Thank you.

Armathwaite Hall is a lovely hotel that manages to maintain its history and grandeur while having every modern comfort. The staff are so friendly and helpful, dogs are made very welcome and the setting is just gorgeous. The spa is great. We were a family of a granny, two couples, one single, a toddler and a dog and we all had a great time and were helped at every turn by the staff. It's not cheap but it's lovely. Our second trip, can't wait to go back.
