We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit! If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else. Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!

I recommend to spend 3 or 4 nights there, to enjoy the calm of the area and to try farming and cooking rice and miso soup . The hosts are very thoughtful and I enjoyed speaking with them about Japan and others things. We have also done the « Okudosan » activity, which I recommend. The women during the activity were very nice and we had a lot of fun.
