The 40Winks guesthouse in Durham exceeding my expectations. The guesthouse is situated perfectly in order to have access to the Durham city center, but also feel out of the bustle of the city. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our stay. I cannot recommend them enough!

It was beautiful and so cozy! It was unexpected because its located on top of a bar, but it was just such a lovely room, very clean, great shower, excellent location, easy check in, just perfect.

It was so nice to have a small kitchen with our room. Breakfast foods provided were good and we could heat them in our microwave and eat at the table. The host was very nice and helped us feel welcome.

The innkeeper was absolutely wonderful! She invited us for a pint on our arrival and accepted to keep our bags all day while we wandered about the city. The pub is an adorable local hang-out: I can't believe I never came here as a student!
