I spent five wonderful days in Licodia Eubea. I came to relax and take it easy for a little while which I did. Maybe I drank a few too many Spagliattos during the nights and slept a little too much in the days. Carmelo is a marvellous host, he made me feel incredibly welcome. I was lucky enough to meet his friends and family who I have grown very fond of, along with all the locals who were very kind (even when I "sang" Elvis at the Karaoke). Lago Dirillo is beautiful as is the SantaPau castle built above ancient ruins. I enjoyed exploring all the side roads & the array of spectacular view points, in particular Piazza Stefania Noce which looks out towards a gorgeous valley. If you're thirsty or hungry then the three main bars are cool with lovely staff, Roxy, Central & Sport. I would also recommend the local cheesemaker Caseificio Fratelli Polizzi. I have made some great connections and real friendships. I am sad to go but I will return better prepared (with a car or motorbike!)
