Situated in the market town of Melbourne in South Derbyshire, this boutique hotel has a stylish bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Castle Donington is a 15-minute drive away. It was remembrance weekend. After the parade there was a number of ex Guardsmen having a meal together.

In the heart of the National Forest, this early 18th-century pub provides modern, cosily furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi. Room was spotless, bed was like sleeping on a cloud, waterfall shower was devine. David was an exceptional host he went above and beyond for us. Free refrigerated water as much as you like was a lovely touch. We had a 3am checkout and breakfast sandwiches were left for us to have at the airport. Breakfast on the other 2 mornings were lovely. Loved our stay and will return when visiting family again. We stayed in a standard double which was perfect for us as we just laid our heads there. If you like a more spacious room the deluxe is definitely worth the money, the other couples ended up having to book the deluxe.
