We liked that we were able to immerse with the locals. We arrived at the Bangsal port and was picked up by Roni'a uncle. The drive takes 2 hours therefore make sure you have food with you otherwise you can buy from Alfamart on the way. Our first day we did the rice terraces tour with Hari(Roni's uncles). Hari was amazing and he knew everything about the rice plantation and all the plants we would come by, he would tell us the benefits. Along the way, we stopped at the spice house where we were welcomed with a cup of coffee. Here we bought a lot of spices for very affordable price. Hari then took us to this restaurant and that blew our minds. Their urap urap, red chili chicken and friend banana were 10/10!!! Make sure you try it! In the evening we got to join Roni and his family to make dinner. During this time we learned a lot about Indonesian cooking and recipe while learning about their culture also. This trip has been very educational and fun for us!

The location was superb - right in the middle of a rice field along an aqueduct. Mu and his family were so warm and welcoming and worked tremendously hard to anticipate our every need.
