Pension Schönbrunn  

Goed hotel langs een drukke weg door Wenen, vlak bij het slot Schönbrunn. Goede OV mogelijkheden binnen (300m) loopafstand. Met de trein (S7) vanaf het vliegveld met één keer overstappen goed te bereiken. CAT wel iets sneller maar ook 4x duurder en echt niet nodig. De kamers liggen aan een binnenplaats met de gang er achterlangs waardoor je totaal geen last hebt van verkeerslawaai. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ontbijt karig maar wel voldoende. Wij hadden een ruime kamer met een apart bankstel met bureau ( kamer 215 ). Ook een kluisje voor laptop en een koelkast aanwezig.

Kamers zonder airco wat erg benauwd was in onze periode. Op het binnenplaatsje totaal geen zuchtje wind. Na een dag van ruim 30 graden en bijna geen afkoeling 's nachts slaap je totaal niet. We zijn er 6 nachten geweest en kregen pas na de 4e nacht en na vragen schoon bedlinnen. TV erg klein en oud model, wel flatscherm.

Simple and clean city hotel. You cannot expect some additional extras for this price but you get everything what you need for a stay. Beautiful Schönbrunn park (with amazing zoo) is 2 minute walking distance. Public transport station (U-ban) is 2min. From the hotel and you need 15-20 min to reach the city center. Train intervals are 3-5 min and there is no crowd even in rush time!.Supermarket is in next parallel street. Hotel stuff is very helpful, for example we got extra bed and towels for a kid immediately.Garage is available for reasonable price.

For sure , it is a time to renew the furniture. Yes, it is clean and functional but outdated! Room entrance doors stayed in 80'S. Only LCD,hairdryer and safe in the room gives you impression that it is 2011 today.

Main reasons for choosing it were price and location, although I was little disappointed when I saw real picture vs what I saw on internet (photos), I got what I was asking for. Rooms are little shabby but spotless and clean. Schoenbrunn as well as U-bahn are 5 minutes away which is great. Staff was friendly. If the owner wants just a little bit more cheap points, should water heater mug and instant coffee in rooms....would come back

We loved all aspects of our stay here.

It's cheap, also it is really close to the royal garden or whatever it is called.

Area is not very nice, bathroom equipment is old and in many ways broken - the sink pipe clogged, the shower hose broken, poorly functioning taps, towels and bedlinen are clean, but have old stains all over.

Spotless rooms, perfectly adequate breakfast (as much or as little as you like), comfy mattress and nice and warm on a cold December weekend. Service friendly and helpful too.

Close to the Ubahn for access to the city center and walking distance to Schoenbrunn Palace. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was terrific and the breakfast was excellent.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

The room was large and quiet. Full bathroom with separate toilet.Complimentary Wifi and continental breakfast. A 10 minute walk to Schonbrunn Palace and the underground.

I didn't realise that the pension was so far out of the city. Great for visiting the Schonbrunn Palace but after that there was really nothing else around. When I returned to Vienna I stayed at a pension right in the city centre which was excellent and the same price as the Schonbrunn

the service of the hotel staff is exemplary, very helpful and very warm. I would like to make a special mention of Andrew here. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Its far from the town centre but U4 connects it beautifully to the town centre...worth every penny!

Breakfast can be better....

This was a charming hotel with a great location. The staff was friendly and efficient...always willing to help. The breakfast was excellent and included in price. The room was always clean and functional. We enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend it.

I stayed in this pension at 3 nights. I thought this Pension was very hospitable and staff was very kind. The room was very clean. Then this pension locates at near the station of Schönbrunn,it was very convenience. In the breakfast,I enjoyed the good taste coffee. I thought this pension was good value for money. I want to stay at here when I will visit Vienna again.

The rooms were very comfortable and quiet, with a nice breeze coming off the courtyard (all rooms face the courtyard garden). The staff is very helpful and kind (letting us stay well after check out time because one of our kids was feeling sick). Walking distance to the Schoenbrunn Castle is a real plus. You could spend all day there, and there's a wonderful restaurant at the entrance coming from the Pension side. The price is a real bargain. Getting closer to the city center ramps up cost considerably, but if you're not afraid to take the U-bahn (much easier to figure out than the subway in NYC!!), you can be at points of interest in 15 minutes.

Breakfast could use a little improvement. The staff was lovely, but more fruit and even some hard boiled eggs, if they can't serve other hot food, would be great.
