Amazing and modern city. One of the two real cities in Bulgaria (Burgas and Plovdiv). Plovdiv is must to visit in your live, as much as Athens, but is much more beautifull and full with atractions, concerts and art activities, with nice places to go and amazing coffees and restaurants.

The old town is very photogenic and quite walkable.
The old town is very photogenic and quite walkable. However there are many cobbled streets which can be quite slippery when wet. Highlight were generally just exploring although I enjoyed the History Museum. I was less impressed with the Veren Stamboulyan House. I paid an extra 6 leva to be allowed to take photos only to find every room had a no photography sign.
I also went independently to the Bachkovo Monastery which I though was worth despite the wet weather. I ended up returning by unofficial taxi at the cost of 8 leva.

Plovdiv has so much to offer, great bars and restaurants and of course it is stepped in history for thousands of years. The town has a fantastic atmosphere and it’s it so easy to move around as such a small city, you can easily be having lunch in old town and then taking coffe in a fashionable shop. Having breakfast in an amphitheater was just amazing. The Roman history is stunning as is the more recent…. Makes Sofia look dull

Interesting to see the Old Town and new town of Plovdiv.
Interesting to see the Old Town and new town of Plovdiv. Definitely need to make use of a walking tour to hear about the history etc especially the Ancient Stadium of Philipopolis which runs under the H & M store! We used Plovdiv Trips for two tours out of the City which was well worth it. Karmen and Stoyan were both excellent and knowledgeable guides. Plenty of good eating places and friendly

Plovdiv is beautiful!
Plovdiv is beautiful! Full of history, great nature, offers extensive entertainment and restaurant experiences, beautiful architecture, various museums and cultural events. Plovdiv represent the natural and historical beauty of Bulgaria in the best possible way!
The charming looking hotel is a bit outdated and has a beautiful terrace in front of the hotel. I travelled in November so there were few guests. Th hotel is located in the center of the old town, which is by car only accessible for people who live there and hotel guests. The roads in the old town are made of square rocks which makes it difficult to walk on for elderly people and impossible for a person with a disability. The hotel has a small parking garage and place there must be booked in advance. Very friendly service and a good breakfast.
Conveniently located in a safe neighborhood and at walking distanced from city center and the ancient town. There is a bus stop only two blocks away and there are corner shops and restaurants and cafeterias around the corner. There is a large park nearby as well as a mall. The supermarket Lidl is just 3 blocks away. The apartment has a kitchen and a fridge so you can cook your own meals, though i recommend to buy exquisite and inexpensive homemade Bulgarian food in the corner (walk left).
Rooms are soundproofed and have air conditioner.
Central location close to the Best old town attractions within walking distance. Brand new hotel recently restored and newly decorated with focus on detail and selection of best quality of materials. Wonderful kind and attentive staff focused on YOU and your needs. Tasty breakfast. Roof deck with a view on Plovdiv and individual tour in the underground ancient baths. Did I mention the beautiful room decorated in taste and style? Very comfortable beds and clean as snow linen? Even the condiments smelled amazingly. Private guarded parking!
Really great hotel, excellent location with lovely view of Maritsa River. Rooms are freshly refurbished, modern, bright and cozy. Lovely bathroom. Good heating system (our visit was in January). Old Town is just across the river. Free and secure parking. Great pool. Staff is extremely friendly, kind, professional and helpful, very nice people. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful.
We were more than happy here and we would certainly stay in Grand Hotel Plovdiv again anytime.
The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the old city which makes it really nice if you do not want to spend time walking to much to find the old town, and also the area is quite silent in terms of traffic.
The receptionist was super friendly waiting for us with lemonade and water, also offering local wine and cheese as amenities.
The whole hotel is decorated keeping the old Bulgarian motives and gives you a nice view in to the history times.
I dont know where to start from...this hotel is literally in the heart of Old Plovdiv. Rooms were Huge, can sleep 4 people. Bathrooms were big woth tons of hot water. The rooms also have TV and AC.
The staff were so kind and helpful with where to find places to eat, what is best to see in town and such. The price for a night was just unbelievable, for the location and also for accomodations.
We will definitely come back.
The greatest hostel ever, it is much more of a Boutique Hotel. Crisp white linens, individual beds, private bathrooms, a beautiful outdoor kitchen, fresh squeezed lemonade, and superb location in old town. The staff is sweet and generous with advice, the breakfast is delicious, and the hostel itself is a gorgeous, old world mansion. My highest recommendation, I will definitely stay here every time I’m in Plovdiv.
The owner mitko met me at the bus station at 21.00 hrs which was very good, there is nothing he doesn't know about plovdiv or indeed bulgaria. The hotel is on the edge of the old town.he also took me back to the bus station when I left, much cheaper than a taxi would have been.would not hesitate to stop here again.
The young lady on reception was extremely helpful and very welcoming. We were the only two guests in the hotel We were able to park our car inside the hotel yard behind secure gates. The breakfast provided for us was excellent and very good value. Probably the best breakfast we have had in any hotel in Bulgaria.
the hotel is branded as 5 stars. we got a poor room close to the hotel. bathroom flouded, tv with a front to the wall not to the bed, furniture poor, breakfast like in a hostel. one big shame. never again. we were cheated by thinking that if we choose "modern room" it will be better then normal room.......
absolutely everything. You feel like in a 5 star hotel. Every single detail makes you feel so special and at home. The host is super friendly, kind and ready to answer any question or help you with anything. Extremely clean, amazing design, super comfy!!! For that price it is 1000% worthy!
The property is to a very very high standard for Bulgaria. My son was so happy with the choice - I doubt that any other hotel would have achieved the same. Very close to city centre, rail station and the old town.
SOHO Apart House is an absolute gem in Plovdiv.
THANK YOU!!!
The attitude of the owner and staff was great, we felt really at home! The breakfast was wonderful and the fact that there is a parking space outside the hotel is great. The old town is very close, and in one word everything was perfect.
Clean and comfortable rooms, nice staff, private parking behind the building. Hotel is close to the train station, the old town is about 20-30 minutes by foot, and there are also several bus lines passing very close.
Hillhouse Hotel is perfectly located in the old town. The staff there are so kind and helpful even going out of their way to find us great parking. The rooms were sparkling clean, and the breakfast was delicious!
One of the cleanest hotels I have ever been in (not only in Bulgaria)! The staff were extremely friendly, polite and available at all times. The breakfast choices were awesome and delicious.
Very close to old town. Clean and nice. Car parking safe for a low price. They also let us to leave our car after we check out. I would definetely stay there next time in Plovdiv.
