Company info

We are a Swiss/Canadian family and the fifth generation to live in our family owned 500+ year old house in Bern's Old City. We live with our two children on the top floor. The Bern rental apartments are located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors so we are never far away should you need any help. We also share our holiday apartment in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley, an hour and a half from Bern. We love traveling too!

Property info

These charming and historical apartments, located in our 500 year old building are full of original character as well as all the modern conveniences guests need. The bright and cozy apartments sleeps 1-4(3rd floor) or 1-5 people (1st and 2nd floors). There is a very comfortable 160 x 200 cm (queen) bed in each apartment and a sofa bed which can sleep two (3rd floor) or three (1st and 2nd floors) people. All bedding is provided. We also can provide a baby bed on request. There are private modern kitchens and private bathrooms with bathtub/shower for each apartment. All basic kitchen supplies, as well as kitchen and bathroom towels are provided. Please note for 1st and 2nd floor apartment: In the typical Bernese apartment style the private kitchen and bathroom are separated from the bedroom and living room and is accessed by walking across the landing through the house's spiral stairwell. Although this stairwell is also used for the other three apartments to access the building, your apartment is completely private. Business activities where clients must visit you in the apartment are strictly forbidden and are cause for immediate termination of your stay without refund.

Neighborhood info

The apartment is totally central in the Old City of Bern surrounded by shops, bars, tourist attractions, restaurants and cafés. You can even buy your breakfast bread from the bakery right next door and your cheese, fruit, meat from the farmers market on our street (Tues&Sat). Not only is the location ideal for exploring the Medieval city it is only a ten minute walk or 3 min bus to/from the train station giving you easy access to see the whole region, for example train times to: - Thun, 30 ' - Interlaken, 1 hr - Zürich, 1 hr - Luzern, 1 hr 30 mins - Greyere, 1 hr 30 min - Grindlewald, 1 hr 45 min - Wengen, 1 hrs 50 mins - Schilthorn, 2 hrs 30 mins - Jungfraujoch, 3 hrs
